In it's current form, definitely. But if you use the principal and make your design you could easily avoid it

only down side is that if the base is that decayed you should be able to see the floors and walls are low on health. if you came across it again and it still looks like that you'd be suspicious. lastly where this is good for making sure that stability is 100% on the outside (amazing thing to do) the floor in the middle isn't. i'd suggest making a small 2x2 on top. people are less likely to check stability of a 2x2 on a raid from the inside. maybe make it look like a starter base that didn't get it's honeycombing done yet. 2x2 in the center twig honeycomb on the outside.

Very nice video Flak. I'm a lil late to the party, just found your channel and I've recently gotten into unique base builds. I'm primarily a True PvE player these days and really enjoy experimenting with different concepts for base builds. This is definitely an interesting concept for PvP, but I also see potential in the concept for a cool PvE base that doesn't end up being the typical larger profile box/tower/honeycomb style. I'm gonna try tweaking this concept and tailor it towards a low profile, compact PvE base. Keep up the good work.

People will probably check the health on the walls and floors. they can also discover that the stability is lower than 100% (that means that it's not a foundation). And the method of moving loot is very ineffective and risky, people can run by since it is a "decayed base" and kill you in the process of moving loot. Plus, if they discover that there is something below (for ex. by hearing you) the base, it's very cheap to raid. I personally think that the idea is very interesting but it needs some more tweaking, fixing etc. Keep up the great work and have a good one.

One flaw I see with this is that the base won’t seem decayed for anyone walking by with a hammer (also I’m not positive on this but the floor won’t appear at 100% stability) meaning this would likely be ideal for functioning based instead of appearing to be decayed. (Aka a safe room for the really important loot)

A slightly more expensive way of doing it would be to upgrade a floor tile to sheet metal and use the hammer destroy function to get inside. Then replace the floor and upgrade to stone when done.

Problem is that if people look at the foundations they can see some are not foundations since they don't have 100% stability, therefore giving away the exact location of your loot in the process.

Tip for anyone doing these sort of bases, make the foundations at the bottom wood. Since they're hidden, it lets you save on stone, metal or whatever you make the rest out of.

@@MisterFlak I figured a design where you have the tc downstairs, main base upstairs, and the way downstairs just looks like a tc room closed off with a sheet door that most won't bother to raid as upstairs would only have your mediocre loot.

I recommend making a random triangle foundation a sealed off with HQM walls if you are on a no decay server do people think you walled it off, nobody would go through HQM just to get to a tc, meanwhile the tc is actually in the underground of your base :)

I used this idea before the system with consumed resources. Then there was a problem - experienced players see that the raided house does not collapse with time. In general, the idea is excellent. None of my houses for 10 wipes was not raided.

i like the decayed idea but without dmg a veteran player like me would know right away, also going up to a base with a hammer you can see the stability and will expose the hidden floor as well. best option is to take a boat to the ocean and log off at night,; boat will despawn but u will be above the ground and will live, swim back to base to your base and bam u now keep majority of your loot semi risk free :)

Put the research table inside of a bush. As in build the spot where the table goes in/under/on a bush, so you don't need a box to conceal it and then just put a regular table or a chair there or something to camouflage it. Also Flak I know that some items can be placed on doors, whether open or closed, try something cheeky with that?

Is it just me or can you not place a floor over the arm of the research table? I've tried this on two different servers and and had the same problem on both. I complete the whole base, but when I get to that part - the floor can always be place without the research table, but never with it.

When a building is decaying, you can see the health on the wall dropping. If a player sees all the walls are 100% health they will realise its not degrading and something is up. Good idea nevertheless.

I think that building this with the idea that "Nobody will bother trying to raid a base that looks decayed" Is a bad way to build a base. Anyone with a hammer can look at stability. People can also see the damage done to walls and foundations, if the walls and foundations are full health It'd make no sense that the base is decaying because no damage was done to walls and foundations. Overall the base just seems too inefficient and half-assed. No matter what you're always better building a full fledged base with proper protection and proper access to loot otherwise storing loot becomes too much of a hassle.

Down sides - not safe at all if its half decayed or even just basecamp -people should notice if half the base is decayed but tc still on and no other constructions are decaying -at least 2 people online or else.. rip stuff. Bunker bases are a better issue if you count those facts :D
