I was playing on this rust vanilla server with a squad of eight guys we ran into a terrible base that had a couple of guys in it and they had some decent loot so we felt we would raid them so we blow in through their air lock we're moving in and a single guy kills every single one of us no recoil whatsoever and everyone on the servers just calling us bad and it was super obvious he was cheating

The problem with this is your game client needs all this informations.... so if you have a sniffer you can extrakt this from the data stream and develop a 3th party tool which is reading out this information and put them as an overlay above your game hud.... and this is working for EVERY game. And the game developers cant do anything against this 3th party tools ... or do you want to accept the game reading out every last bit of software which is running on your computer only to ensure that there isnt a 3th party product running which could affecting the game via a overlay ? There are examples like overwolf or some addons from teamspeak3 which also using overlays ingame to show you who is speaking atm this is nothing else so if you forbit overlays ingame to protect people from ESP hacks etc you would automatically also prevent other not game affecting overlays from working.... There are some ways you can do at the server side to protect the players from speed hacking teleportation and no clip etc but this will cause lags and higher hardware requirements for servers For example you could programm a script which is always running and checking the distance and time when a player is moving and if the player is walking on ground and the time distance relation is wrong the player gets kicked and autobanned same for teleportation so if a player moves 100 meters in 2 seconds while the normal character speed should be 30 seconds +/- 2-3 secnods for this distance you could check this and kick/bann this player Same with walls or other massive objects a player shouldn be able to cross through can be put in to scripts I noticed that in Arma 3 exile which is btw not programmed from a company but from some players. In normal arma it was possbile to to use a combination of 3th person and crowling to move through walls without hack clients etc but some day the developers put in some scripts which checked that an while you could still do that in standard arma you got instantly killed in exile when you tryed to glitch trough a wall... so if some players can programm such things why cant a professional gaming company prgramm things like that ?

i made a similiar vid for HnG after the developer claimed for over a year that there was 1 (!!!) aimbotter and he got banned. after my proof video they tried to call it fake and rigged with paintshop pro lol, thats a big problem , many devs dont care or care too less, some i even think sell hacks incognito. i like it to see more and more people revaling the "truth about how bad the hacking in internet games really is" and at least stuffing a bit the mass of hackers laughing mouth tell you "l2p" and "there is no hack its all serverside" ect. peace

The problem is with your logic. If you play this game you will encounter hackers. So if you know where to get the hack and can use it undetected then you are only leveling the playing field. It's not cheating if other people can do it too.

People love to shit on DayZ for taking a long time to make. Well, this is part of the reason. They're building their own engine rather than using Unity. Hacks are possible to make but they're not this effective and can be controlled. I'll be curious to see what kind of securities the new engine has for beta/.63.
