Another good strat is using heartbeat sensors connected to doors that the auto turrets are behind. So they turret is only exposed when the raider is in a position where he can be can be shot. You can actually use one heartbeat to open 2 doors at once if you use and switches which will make it even more difficult for them when 2 auto turrets appear at once
@MyGamingExperience3 жыл бұрын
Yup that is a pretty cool idea. I used to do similar things with the hb sensor for trap bases
@randomutubr2223 жыл бұрын
This is what I do. 1 heartbeat sensor opens 2 garage doors exposing a turret; with everything placed so that 2 turret pods will open for any 180deg angle. The next tip is to then feed the "No Ammo" output into a blocker, blocking the flow of current to the door controllers. This way, if they do manage to bait your turret until it runs out of ammo, the doors will close and remain closed, regardless if they are in range of the sensor or not. Protects your turrets and the guns inside of them when they have no more ammo.
@Jb197383 жыл бұрын
@@randomutubr222 such a good idea with the blocker! So I would just wire up the auto turret as normal, but through a blocker, with an extra wire from the no ammo part in to the side of the blocker right?
@randomutubr2223 жыл бұрын
@@Jb19738 You don't want to power the turret through the blocker. If you did that and then fed the No Ammo output into the Block Passthrough, then when the turret ran dry, it would just turn itself on and off in an infinite loop. The turret should always remain powered (and provided with 11 electricity). E branch for sensor -> E Branch for turret -> rest of power goes into AND switch + sensor output goes into AND switch -> blocker -> door controllers. Then the No Ammo output on the turret goes into the Block Passthrough on the blocker, which will prevent the door controllers from powering / opening the doors. I'm trying to send a link to a screenshot of the circuit I use, but KZbin keeps deleting my comment because of it. If you go to imgur and then add tg0npCZ to the end, it will come up. That is how I set it up for my base (circle footprint; there are 3 turret pods. If you need more, then you'd just use a series of electrical branches in place of the splitter that I have there). Only thing missing from that example above is you should obviously also have a master switch somewhere to turn everything off for maintenance.
@projectdren8063 жыл бұрын
Depending how you wire it, and may require some big brain, you can have those doors auto close permanently if the turret is destroyed.

Just a helpful tip (in some cases) -- Chainlink fences allow a turret to shoot others, but the raiders cannot hit the turret thru the fence/fence door For some situations, this is useful (and can be moreso than bars/jail cell walls and doors. Ive tried to shoot the turrets w/ arrows, incendiary rockets, explo, reg ammo, etc. Nothing damaged the turret for me (it would hit the fence). But the turret could absolutely hit me (when testing). I find they give the turret some vertical visibility over the half-wall pillboxes Im sure you could come up w/ a bunch of useful ways to utilize this

Electrical: What I've used with great success is a bit different concept and a change of order and a few different parts. From the power source, whatever you choose as Test Genny was my goto option, go into a Branch and set the Branch for 32. The 32 goes out to the Switch and of course Smart or Regular depends on what you have or can make. From there to into a Splitter. Then lastly from each splitter to 3 turrets. What this does is for each test genny you can manage and control 9 turrets from 3 switches. Parts list: 1 test genny or large battery or whatever, 3 Branches, 3 Switches and again of your choice smart or regular, 3 Splitters and lastly, 9 Turrets armed with the weapons of your choosing. This allows for mass confession in your electrical setup and I place Test Genny's all over the place. As long as you can reach a turret you can setup splitters to charge turrets in different areas. Even if one or two test genny's or lg batteries or turrets are found you still have active turrets due to all eggs not being placed on a single switch or single battery. Sometimes I even run single test gennys to a single turret just to mix things up and typically make the swap the night before wipe because I won't be checking on it. Many times I run multiple test genny's and switches to a single light or some useless item for the sole purpose of distraction and forcing the waste of explosives to ensure an increase in the cost of the raid. probably the best part was making sure that a sweet target base was void of LOOT. There's NOTHING worse than spending several hours and massive amounts of explosives on a Raid to yields ONLY what's in TC, a bit of HQM and Metal. I will put 100 large boxes, all locked, either empty or with a Note that says "Arg ye found me loot" or some other cheeky thing just to piss the Raider off to the max. The reason to Lock the Box is to play on their GREED as they must find out what's INSIDE and they will waste ammo to get NOTHING. Where I'd keep my loot is the real secret so don't ask, I won't give out that info. But raid me if you want, you will only get disappointment and despair for your troubles. As for finding my loot, won't happen, because it's hidden in such as obvious spot no one bothers to look... Cheers...

@cybercapri Жыл бұрын
@@Dan-vs6di Since I don't play Rust anymore, I will tell you where I kept my loot, in a plan, no frills base, devoid of walls and a base anyone would walk by and think, wow, what a noob. I'd burry it deep within the center so even if you do raid it, you'd have to destroy the entire base to get to it. Folks go after the hard raid thinking it will be full of everything but every single one of my HQ Metal bases, as described above, only have enough HQM, Metal or whatever in the TC for two days and given the massive amount of explosives they just used blasting through, the probably rage quit the game LOL... Sure my loot bases got hit a few times, just not often and an inside job because they knew exactly what blocks to take out. Many times I didn't bother to lock the doors and kept a lot of boxes out in the open, unlocked and empties to throw off the Greedy Raiders looking to score. They don't want to tear up a floor to check under it because the doors were unlocked and boxes empty, either they had nothing or were already hit is what they probably thought and moved on. Many wipes I went not raided in by Loot bases while my heavily HQ Metal bases were totally destroyed. Greed caused Rust Players to make bad decisions and focus only on HQ Metal while Wood and Stone are not worth the time or effort for what little they thought they'd get. I hope this gives you some good ideas as to how to mess with the Greedy Rust Raiders... Cheer's
