Thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it. Not sure if I'd be the right one to be teaching anything, but I just like to show how I try to fix rusted old cars and save them for someone to enjoy in the future. I hate seeing classic cars sit and rot away. They are all a part of our history and should be enjoyed for as long as possible. Thank you very much for watching, I hope I can be entertaining while trying to fix these old things up. I still consider myself new at this and I try to get better as I go. Have a very happy new year.

Joey is there any way debris gets out at the bottom of the cowl? I didn’t see any opening!
@Wabisabijalopy9 күн бұрын
@@jackiedonaldson7718 no sir, if it gets in there it fall down on top of the rocker. There is an opening where it can be cleaned that would be behind the inner kick panel. There is a small drain hole for water to escape but not big enough for debris to clear.

If cars didn't have large holes in the top of the cowl the cowl wouldn't fill with debris water & rust , seems like a design flaw
@Wabisabijalopy19 күн бұрын
@@michaelerickson1518 the design was for fresh air, but you are correct that if those holes were not there it wouldn’t be that bad. This one will have vintage air so the holes may be filled before I’m done, gotta talk to my buddy about it. I have filled those in the past. Thanks for the comment and for watching, happy new year.

Why, there are car that have been in the junk yard for years that are in better shape than this car is or ever will be! Seems to me learning what to walk away from is critical in that business.

Sometimes the vehicle has sentimental value and this kind of repair is unavoidable. I have a 1990 mustang that has rot like this, the car is not worth the time and money I will have in it but it was my first car. I have alot of memories in it. I am not the only one, I've worked on quite a few vehicles who's stories outweigh the price of the restoration.

@@darkartauto1511 Thanks for the comment and yes he has wanted this car for a very long time and he has no ability to fix it. He's a good friend and I'm trying to help him out as much as I can. He's in no hurry and I've had it for a long time doing work on it as I can. It's getting there slowly but I'm hoping he can take it to paint and upholstery before June. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it. Happy New Year.

The value of a car like this is unmeasurable to its owner. He is willing to let a master fabricator bring it back to life one piece at a time. I disagree with your comment of it will never be worth nothing more than a car in the junk yard. I invite you to hang around and watch the transformation of this ride. I think you will be completely surprised!
