My previous videos had lots of questions regarding clarity on certain areas and many people were messaging me still confused as hell. So in this video I try to answer all the reoccurring questions and update the information I was previously putting out. An important note for the clone-sample gathering process: If you get a bad seed you don't want hogging up space and water, you can break it with any tool. One hit with a stone hatchet should clear any seeds.

For those farming in the cold, you don't need the H. Though, I dislike cross breeding enough that as long as I get 2g 2y i'm happy ish. Just wanted to share, lived on glacier and our farm was perfectly fine without H's inside.

it depends where in the snow and if you are using fertilizer. Genes are all about being efficient. If your plant is "bottlenecking" on the temperature happiness, you 100% want more H genes.

You need 4500-6500ml water. You want 100% temp (hottest environment). Heaters don’t heat plants, you will need H genes.

You can’t do the 50/50 method unless you have a 6 green plant. Use the first method of counting genes to get a few plants that line up to get one with all green.

Hemp gives you cloth which you can sell at bandit camp for scrap. Once you have lots of scrap you can buy pretty much any resource you need at all the shops. Or you can grow food to feed you for the wipe.

holdtime 0 will make it so that its instant when you click e. Then holdtime 0.2 puts it back to normal. I have binds to swap between this.

no.. they only inherit from the ones its 1 spot away from.. imagine like a pawn in chess. So the middle one has 8 neighbors.. but the corner ones have only 3 neighbors. The edge ones have 5 neighbors.

my guess is that you counted the middle seed when counting genes. You need to remember that the middle seed doesn't get counted.. only the outer ones. Something is wrong in your setup.

Few things that need to be mentioned: Why do a 50/50 method when you could force the gene you want using a triple or quadruple match? Secondly, 2g4y is better in a lot of situations. Besides giving 70 cloth per 4Y's, each Y gives you an additional clone, so having more clones from fewer plants negates extra G's when growing for clones. Having 4G's also mean that your hemp grows a lot fast than things around it. When im working on berries for example, I put berries in 4 corners so they dont crossbreed when either growing clones or looking for genetics. The rest of the box is hemp once i have that 2G4Y clone, and it is a lot easier for me to pick everything at once rather than running around 24 planter boxes picking things at different times. Sure, you could just let a 4G hemp keep growing thru ripe stage while everything else catches up, but that is inefficient in terms of water and/or fert usage.

I mention your gene thoughts in future/updated videos. As for the 50/50 method, mathematically speaking its a lot easier to find a 50/50 then a guaranteed, and with new techniques you can repeat trials 100+ times in sub 20mins.

No. It needs to be a double red W or double red X. An X and W carry their own individual weight. So for example X is greater than an H and Y but a YY is greater than an X and a W. Genes carry their own weight, the color just determines if its 0.6 or 1.0.

Quick question. I'm seeing some plants during the crossbreed and mature stages that have two lines of genetics with lines pointing to other genes. Not sure what any of that means. For example: Top Line : H G G G H W (all letters are black except for the 2nd H that's green) / \ 2nd Line: X -Y-W-X H (X,W,X is red Y and H are green)

What's the point of crossbreeding? After many hours I finally got a gggyyy clone which yielded 5berries per plant (after waiting forever for the plant to finish fruiting). Next wipe I planted whatever plants I had (crappy genetics) and yielded the same amount of berries...

You're supposed to clone the plant until you have as triple the clones to planter space. Then plant harvest every 2/3 cycles and clone every 1/3 (ratios change based on number of Y's). Cloning only takes a few minutes vs having to go find all the berries manually. They also grow faster than random genes. So if you had for example 9 planter boxes, that's 81 good clones, would you rather spend 5 mins cloning 81 * 3 seeds each harvest or manually running around and picking up 243? Cross breeding benefits at scale... not if you want 1 or 2 teas.

the center plant needs to be random/null because its genes are NOT counted. When counting genes, the center plant only extracts from the neighboring genes not its own.

clone itself, then clone all the clones, keep doing this till you have enough to fill a farm and have extra clones, then alternate between cloning and harvesting. Then just repeat this process. I talk about it in my latest video.

Yes that would work, or you could just place your middle seed and right before cross breeding place 8 outer seeds. Try to use sprinklers for watering two levels

those 3 genes are the ones on the outside. Like I said the center one DOES NOT consider its own genes. So to change it you'll need a double up in the surrounding genes.
