1) This is significantly cheaper to raid from the backside compared to your older unraidable cave base. With this cave, if a group wanted you raided it would be very easy to raid being atmost 60ish rockets. 2) You can jump from the other side of the ledge and crouch to bait the turrets with some heavy plate. 3) You can use a 2 person boost to shoot incendiary rockets above where the turrets are and the fire will fall onto the turrets 4) Prison Cell gates make turrets easier to bait and make turrets hit less shots because of the bars in the way. I recommend using chainlink fences 5) If you're aiming this design at small groups or solos then snow is the way to go. Rich with nodes, all animals are bears so lots of leather. The cold deters naked doorcampers. I rest my case
@MisterFlak5 жыл бұрын

Just an FYI from someone who builds in this cave regularly... if you place a turret as far forward as possible on the square foundation facing the spikes, it is 99.9% undrainable (there's no such thing as 100% in rust. You cannot land the jump over the spikes. The turret starts firing when you're in mid air. Also, there is ONE very specific spot on the natural stone looking staircase/nook in the back that you can place a refinery.

I don't know if this still works, but rugs will raise the height of deployables, such as shot gun traps and I believe auto turrets as well. So if you place a few on top of one another you should be able to raise the height of the turret over the low wall.

@@Pretisy Not entirely, because there is still a garage/double door to enter into before the onslaught of turrets. So they could, in theory, blow that one door open and then be greeted with all the lasers... or hell they may be idiots and not even notice until it's too late. My suggestion, however, would lower the risk of the attacking group being able to drain the turrets using the low wall
@martercinton43074 жыл бұрын
the only problem here is that if they raid where your electricity is your turrets turn off. making your base very vulnerable. also, i would advise setting up a sprinkler system for the turrets just incase they decide to raid the cave base first and manage to get an incend rocket in, it would be put out. other than those few little tweaks the base looks good, good job flak.

Can confirm, someone tried raiding me in this base just last night but he went through 6 HQM walls and got to nothing, even if he did get to the second floor which he really should have been able to, he would have been greeted by an army of turrets making exploring the second floor tricky if not impossible. Given that the dude didn't even try to drill upward and was content of blowing through 6 HQM walls on the first floor only, expecting I'd be dumb enough to place TC or anything really on the first floor - shows that the dude probably wasn't mentally capable of utilizing incendiaries. I love modded servers.

The electricity may not work on all iterations of the map, it depends on the surrounding terrain. Also having an electrical platform up there is going to attract attention, either indicating the cave is occupied or they will raid your electrical setup.

This is pretty Epic. I absolutely love cave bases and have spent a considerable amount of time in them. The last server I played on, I went 4 wipes in a cave system and never was raided or discovered. It was the best and most productive wipes ever. The bit about them being a pain the in the ass to live in, for me, is small potatoes considering how much security they offer. I was actually able to lure a player to fall down my bucket hole once when he flew after me coming back from a long trek across the map. I had taken almost 1500 scrap and purchased an auto-turret, flame turret, and shotgun trap and was on my way back. He shot at me several times with a SAR. Hit me 4 or 5 times, I was medding and bandaging as fast as I could. Got to the bucket entrance and jumped down. Respawned and heard a crunch and a "What the fuck!?". I realized he jumped in after me. I relived him of a full gear set, his SAR, and a bunch of other goodies. Much thanks to that lad for his fat contribution! Now, I'll be scouring maps looking for this as well to test it out. I've done caves in snow biome...actually those are the ones I prefer. Once you get the start of your cave base, you can run out and grab some pumpkins and corn. Then grow them inside. If you can get that and about 10 small furnaces going, then the snow doesn't really matter too much. Awesome vid, you got me as a subscriber.

There are good reasons for cave bases existing, they are hard to raid, but you can't hide things in stashes within your walls if you can't have stashes or walls. With enough explosives they can and will get your loot, whereas above ground you can be a little more tricky. The best option is to keep your components in a cave bunker, (along with bags, kits etc), and have a second above ground base where you keep a subset of your stuff, and your explosives hidden in stashes.

Yeah I gave the clue to most people. Code lies between 1:45 and 2:00 on the lower left hand side. First code is going to be easy to find compared to the next lol. Thanks man

This base is still usable with the new turrets: have a large battery that charges from the outside (this will normally power your turrets. In the case that the wind turbine outside is broken have a sensor detect people and then power a generator to power the turrets

Mister Flak is still proud of the idea that living underground is cool but he is still blissful of how his "unraidable" cave base designs are still 100% RAIDABLE. I've used his design for most of my wipes, but discovering it to be raidable prompted me to redesign his' throughout the wipes. Obviously, no goddamn base in Rust is "unraidable" because that would remove the fun in it. For Flak's cave base design, let me tell you why: -No sane human being would use a fuckton of rockets on that many layers thick of a honeycomb. -Raiders still go through the rope-bucket entrance with meds on hand to blast your doors with explosive rounds. -*DISCONNECT-RECONNECT GLITCH still works* because that part of the cave has an invisible puddle of water (you'd still take a decent amount of fall damage as usual.) -Turrets can still be baited, no matter what angle. If you're using Flak's design, you're only making yourself susceptible to raiders who are up for the challenge. It's not a good design, in my say. I like this one in the video because I'm more of a roleplayer. But Flak, please. The unraidable cave base, just let it go.
@ileiad5 жыл бұрын
It's unnecessarily expensive to fill 3/5 of your cave base with honeycomb. Just use the stability exploit to make it more annoying to raid.
@MisterFlak5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this. Unraidable as in wouldn't be raided. Logically. Even a thousand honeycomb walls could be beaten by 8000 rockets
@ileiad5 жыл бұрын
@@MisterFlak the god himself has replied. holy shit. Sure, but the point I'm trying to make is that the second design that you did is still vulnerable, and is not much of a "beast" as you described it. The main entrance is considerably easy to blast through, as raiders would find it cheaper to take down the exterior wall in the entrance, rather than the quadruple airlock. One or two layers of honeycomb would be enough to seal off the other entrance, and you could make the cave base more annoying, and perhaps harder, to raid, considering that you have more space. Don't get me wrong on this one though, because you're the reason why I felt more comfortable having a rock above my player than having my base exposed on the surface. I look forward into seeing more complex designs for role-players.

I legally I need to label all contractually sponsored video's with "This video is sponsored by Acer" for example. That particular video was purely out of love. Don't know if i'm making sense?

If you can get electricity to the turrets, sure. Still working
@Nathan_Kapri5 жыл бұрын
All you need to do is jump up the entrance, crouch and look down and you will prob drain the turret because the barrel of the turret is below the low wall. Chain link fence might be a better option.

You dont need the disconnect glitch for the bucket cave bases, you can just literally fall down at an angle so u lose little or no hp. Takes a while to get a hang of it but u can survive with practice
