From Connor’s part “They can’t get my guts so they go for my kids” is really good and kinda funny 😆 Loki most of the time, not all the time, gets away with a lot of things. And a few of Loki’s kids are literal world enders. Fenrir the wolf and Jörmungandr the world serpent are the two main contestants. Sleipnir the eight-legged horse and Hel the goddess of death are some of his other children

@jordanpax97353 ай бұрын
@@Kartoffelkamm the only thing I don't like about that line is that it reminds me that someone ppl think Loki is gay just because dude did something to stay alive, since if he didn't Odin and the other gods were going to kill him if he didn't ruin to wall builder's attempt at winning the bet. Loki has also slandered the crap out of Odin and Thor for being gay funny enough. To be honest I blame marvel for this thinking

Norse Mythology nut here! - Tangnjoster is one of Thor's Goats that pulls his Chariot - Jormungandr is the world serpent and second son of Loki. He's fated to kill Thor at Ragnarok - You were spot on; Thor saying that he'll send you to Valhalla is Thor saying "You are a damn fine warrior, I want to recruit you to the Einherjar for Ragnarok. Sadly, only way I can guarantee that is if I kill you right here and now." - Loki had four relevant kids; Fenrir, Jormungandr, Hel, and Sleipnir. Fenrir is the wolf who ate Tyr's hand and will kill Odin come Ragnarok and dies in the process, Jormungandr kills Thor and dies in the process, Hel assists his father Loki in fighting the Aesir and the Einherjar at Ragnarom(she dies too) and Slepnir is Odin's eight-legged horse. - The mistletoe line is in reference to the death of Baldr. Baldr was the most loved and most beautiful god, but Freyja was very protective. So, she made everything promise to never harm Baldr; every weapon, stone, literally everything. However, she overlooked mistletoe, as she saw no harm in it. Loki crafted an arrow from mistetoe and gave it to Hodr, Baldr's blind brother(who thought it was a normal arrow) and hit Baldr in the heart, killing him instantly. - Loki is the child of Laufey and Farbauti, two frost giants, who more or less ascended to godhood by sneaking into Odin's Great Lodge and having one of Idunn's immortality-granting apples - "They don't have the guts so they got my kids" refers to his two less remarkable children with a giant. I don't remember their names, but one was turned into a wolf that mauled the other, then Loki was tied up with the guts of one son. Odin summoned a snake that constantly dripped poison from its fangs into Loki's eyes, and his jotunn mistress had to keep a bowl over his face to keep him from thrashing around, because his thrashing is what caused earthquakes. Once fimbulwinter comes, the dried guts freeze so he can break through them to escape. - Gungnir is a magical dwarven spear that is blessed to never miss its mark, and that any oath sworn upon it is unbreakable. Even if he were to throw the spear directly away from his enemy, it would either swing back around, or travel the entire circumference of the realm to strike his opponent from behind in no more time than a direct throw would have taken. - Huginn and Muninn(Thought and Memory) are Odins ravens that take in all the news of all the realms and whisper it into his ears every night. - Odin gave up his eye at the Well of Mimir for a glimpse of the knowledge within it - Odin was notorious for taking male and female forms to stay hidden. Every god had a calling card; Thor was always burly with red hair and blue eyes, Loki always had long black hair and spotless skin, etc. However, Odin's only calling card was the fact that his right eye would be blind or shut IF HE WANTED TO BE KNOWN, but otherwise was literally impossible to find by anybody. If anybody has any more questions, please do ask! It is my special interest since I was like 6(and supposedly I'm descended from Ragnar Lodbrok through some levels of gymnastics), so I've got 90% of the prose edda in my head on command lol

correct me if I'm wrong but early on doesn't a line from Rustage evoke Thor's belt? the one that along with his gauntlets he needs to weild the hammer Mjohlnir?
@leshy18783 ай бұрын
@@rouga-senpai7613 Yep! His belt, Meginjord, is one of his four unique relics; his gauntlets, his hammer, his belt, and his helmet. His belt doubles his strength and his gauntlets give him immense grip strength and boost his stamina, though he doesn't need either to wield Mjolnir; it just makes it easier for him to use consistently. The gauntlets/gloves, Jarnsgreipr, are considered a requirement by most accounts of the legends, primarily because it's like you trying to swing around a 50 pound weight like a hammer; sure, it's possible, but you're gonna gas out eventually. The gauntlets turn that 50 pound weight into a 5 ounce one

Here's some stuff you missed brother. 1. on one occasion I believe it was either Frigg or Sif who some giant wanted to marry, but instea d they sent Thor dressed as the lady, hence the line in Rustage's 2. Loki, he's known for his ability to shift forms, even across gender, and has given birth to both Odin's horse, Sleipnir, and of course Fenrir as for the mistletoe line, Frig's son Baldr, the most beloved of all the gods had achieved basically immortality in the sense that Frigg had gone around and begged everything in creation not to hurt her son. All things, but mistletoe. then the norse gods, as they oft like, had tested the new nature of Baldr, Loki passed someone mistletoe and told them to throw it at Baldr, thus killing the god. 3 the shoulder piece line references the names of Odin's crows who both sit on his shoulders. 4. Jormungander is the Midgard Serpent, or the World Serpent, however you anna call him, Thor is fated to battle it. 5. "All I want is knowledge, power, wisdom" and the eye line from Odin, odin has one eye, he sacrificed the other for I believe the ablity to see the future? at any rate, Odin's shtick is that he tries to game Ragnarok, break the cycle, learn with every coming of it. 6. Loki's verse mentioned Sif's locks being cut, which is one of Loki's pranks on the norse gods, he cut all the hair of Thor's wife, and on that note, "married to gold" form Thor because after that fact the gods had 3 gifts crafted by the dwarves. Gungnir, Odin's spear, Mjohlnir, Thor's hammer. and hair made out of gold for Sif. Also "till Ragnarok keep that bitch locked." in Ragnarok, Fenrir kills Odin, but UNTIL Ragnarok, Fenrir is chained up, it breaking free is one of the events that starts Ragnarok.
