Metal Hurts

4 жыл бұрын

Today we are restoring a really rusty Arabian sword. its been a great pleasure to show you the whole process in this video. If you like the video must LIKE & SHARE the video also share your opinions in comment section.
I am deeply thankful to each and every single subscriber who is supporting us and those who inspired us to do something new and creative. I made this just for fun i am not promoting any kind weapons so guys just sit back relax and enjoy the video.
I showed the whole procedure of restoration in this video.
o. The liquid i used to remove RUST was Sulfuric Acid.
o. I used sandpapers of different GRITS for shine of the Blade.
o. Aluminium casting was done for the HANDLE to look more enchanting.
o. Shined the blade on my dewalt bench grinder.
o. For Hardening the blade i used my own handmade METAL MELTING FURNACE.
o. I used clear paint to give a glossy look to the wooden handle.
Please Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE my channel to support me for better future projects.

Any mistakes you have made have been made by other Restorers I'm sure and those who don't like what you do should maybe either unsubscribe or offer positive criticism. 8:50 Please, please don't ever hold on to something you're cutting with an angle grinder like that. If that disk were to catch on the metal it would go straight toward your hand. That kind of cut would affect the use of that hand for the rest of your life.

@@kaitlenjohnson1298 You still have to be careful. I know from experience how powerful tools like that are. Those things are designed to cut through steel, so just imagine what it would do to skin. It doesn't matter how knowledgeable you are, you have to respect the power of your tools or else you get hurt. I'm not trying to question his skill or anything like that. I hate when I see a "restoration" and they sand everything and use a buffer to give it a cheap polished look. The grind lines look all blended and doing a true mirror finish takes high skill and lots of time (that's why you usually only see it high end customs). Try doing a nice satin or an acid etch or blueing. Also why heat treat an already hardened blade? And if you do it, you first need to austenize it to get rid of the previous temper, then heat treat it, quench and temper the blade.

nice work, especially considering you don't have a lot of fancy tools. the next time you have to drill a handle like that you have a vice, use it. I was worried you might drill your hand. get distracted for a split second, it can happen. Don't ask me how i know. I'm a bit worried about your heat treat, looked like you had hot spots and so far as you showed, you did not temper it. Maybe you did and it didn't make the vid, but I can only go by what I see. A real arabian sword would be Damascus steel, and would have a very ornate handle. More ornate than what you did, which was a big step in the right direction. I don't really care for the flame blackening but you use what is at hand, there is no shame in this. I just find it doesn't last long, but this will probably just hang on the wall and not get really used anyway, so that all doesn't really matter I suppose.
