Rustic Bar in Pole Barn

2020 has not been a great year. I decided to build a bar in my pole barn. It is a great place for small gatherings or drinks with friends. I went for a rustic/western theme with some modern touches. Enjoy!

The thing you did with the plexiglass, never in a hundred years would I have guessed how you did it. The result is so cool; such a great idea for a backdrop. Loved the bar rails idea too.

Using Muriatic acid and peroxide to the corrugated sheets give a rusted look. Great job

Great job on your bar it looks amazing. I recently did a similar project and pole barn bar so I get where your coming from. I went a little crazy with theater seating and a couple 85" TV's.

This is what I like about the yanks just knocked up a bar I'm not a professional only took me 2 months to build bought all the wood from home depot not a qualified electrician but I run and fitted at least 7 electric points oh forgot to tell just finished building the barn and my new house all with a pandemic going on no such thin as Lockdown in America In Europe you practically cant go out of the house

Awesome job buddy!! Looks better than what most pros do any more! I’d love to know more about the process for aging the cedar boards. Did you say you did or did not use the vinegar/steel wool method? I’ve got a complete bundle of cedar fence pickets I want to use as rustic planking on my kitchen walls during my remodel but I want the gray, aged look of using barn boards without the cost cause there is roughly 500 +/- boards in that bundle and I Only paid $55 for the entire bundle on clearance at Lowe’s. If I can age them like yours then it will be perfect!! Thank you for any info brother!! Take care and be safe out there!!

1x2”’s as a base with frosted plexiglass and then 1x2’s over the top to secure it. LED’s mounted in the inside of the 1x2’s

Sometimes I am too humble I guess! I am very happy with how it turned out. I will probably make some separate videos on how I aged everything from the wood to the corrugated metal. Heck, maybe I’ll buy another beam and restore it to show how I did these!

Main structure is 2 4x4x10 anchored posts in the front with a 2x10 header in front, and back attached to the barn. 2x4’s span the roof and are attached to the headers with Simpson framing brackets.
