To the people that are complaining about a lack of drop, there's one at 0:30 lol. But i'm guessing they're not referencing that one. Anyway, what alot of people don't realise is that song structure and beat arrangement more specifically is often done so that people can mix it with other tracks that allow for a blend of the two without one overpowering the other. Not just that but this track is pretty amazing in and of itself, it sounds like it was meant to fit into a progressive theme album.

The comments on here remind me of the comments on Hudson Mohawke's "Octan"... Everybody's looking for "the drop". I sometimes find myself wishing it existed too but I feel as though omittance is an art. When a song holds out on you, I find that it leaves room for imagination and that gives songs like this a unique appeal and a refreshing taste in that it steers away from the basic uniformity of music.

Nah I think people were using the term for other stuff before this album. I remember surfing /r/futurebass or whatever before this. When this dropped though, it blew the doors off anything else and its prominence and importance has only grown.
