To me, it's refreshing to hear an authentic, imperfect human voice, as opposed to the overprocessed, auto-tuned, sampled and repeated vocals that dominate today's music. This voice has character and humanity that fits the music and lyrics very well, in my opinion.

Sadly, not Mark’s vocal - I bought the album where Paul played as Rustin Man on the Portishead lady’s album - this is instrumentally cool but the vocal is flat... I’m not a fan of Robert Wyatt either...

Everything is Autotuned nowadays so he's in perfect pitch! But no, he's not an accomplished or schooled vocalist but that makes the music sound even more ethereal! Your hearing is flat!
