Thank you for the shout-out for my SEAT Toledo. You're right. They're rare. Mine is a 20 valve 2.3 V5, turning out 170bhp. Not much by modern standards, but it's a surprisingly quick car

Sadly, I’m old enough to remember these coming out, and they did have a great reception at the time, but I just never see them anymore! The V5 is a great and rare engine too.

One of my neighbours had a Citroen GS Estate back in the 70s. I used to love looking at it and admiring the curved glass in the rear hatch.

Thank you Simon. I don't think you will ever see another Mitsubishi Sigma estate especially in white, (N387 DVX) it is over your right shoulder @ 21:18, such a rare practical car. I believe built in Australia, so imported here. I only ever saw three on the road, one of which was for sale (converted to LPG) that I almost bought. I've been looking through these videos but no one seems to have mentioned it.

Excellent and thoroughly enjoyable video! The show was so full on, it is nice to be able to see elements of show again from a more relaxed perspective and your commentary is most enjoyable. Thanks also for showing 'Geoff' my relatively recently acquired Aerodeck! (26:22) I will have to open the boot for you if I find myself at the same show as you in the future :p

4:38 The Herald is mine (temporarily) as I’ve got it through the Classic Car Loan Scheme for a year. This particular one is actually the oldest Triumph Herald 948 Saloon on the road 1959 (there is one older but in a garage I believe) the colour is coffee but allot of people say pink. There is an a ‘coffee & cream’ colour way too from this period.

Well there’s several stories; the most accepted is that the board decided on a special colour and had wanted a metallic but BMC couldn’t reproduce it and one of the engineer’s wives suggested the violet colour which they could produce. The other story is it originated from a drunken discussion in the pub! 😂

Also that Wartburg is the later version when they started fitting VW engines, same with the later trabants after the wall came down

@@Lot76CARS To my knowledge there are three on the road and a few more on SORN. Not a bad survival rate considering they where only produced for eighteen months. There was another GT at the show same colour as mine but a year older and with the original plastic wheel trims. Great cars😎

Good to catch up today Simon. I'm a soft Essex southerner so found it a bit chilly "up north" ( well north of me anyway). Did you see the grey ex Alain De Cadanet 560 SEC ?. That was my favourite today. Looking forward to being indoors for the NEC show in a couple of weeks ! Thanks for the walk around. Definitely some " rare grooves" on display today which made the journey worthwhile.

@@Lot76CARS . The C126 was "Peak Mercedes"for me. I think it was designer Bruno Sacco's favourite wasn't it ?. He might have put his pens & pencils away after designing that one as he was never going to better it. !

I made a video on Perodua in the UK very recently and became fascinated about them. To see three at one show was amazing. I’m hoping to finally drive and film a review this year on one also.

Both the Wartburgs were later 1.3 4 stroke models, they were 2 smoke until 1988 when they got help from VW to use an engine built under licence, the saloon is mine. The 2 stroke Wartburg was sold in the UK as the Knight from 67 to 74 or thereabouts, one was due to be there too but broke down on the way sadly.

@@Lot76CARS no problem, most were and that's what they were known for.. they only lasted a short time as a 4 stroke. When the Berlin Wall came down they fell out of favour quickly with the reunification of Germany. Vast majority went to Hungary and other Eastern European countries until 1991 when they ceased production.The 1.3 wasnt sold in the UK, these were imported from Hungary..2 of only about 20 in the UK

Thanks, the 190E was back on the road from 1 March and did the 180 mile around trip within a hitch.. after a few months off the road I need to remind myself why I still own it!

I just had to film it! No idea at first what it was but reminded me of a mini Ford Probe from some angles… what a rare car!

In fact the ZX2 was the successor to the probe in the USA, we had the ford cougar and although the cougar was for sale in America it was a Mercury cougar, so apart from the mustang the ZX2 was the only ford 2 door coupe for sale. Up until it was discontinued in 2003.

Crazy these won’t see another one cars. Which is correct. When were mainstays just like Escorts Focus Mondeos were everywhere. K11 Micra convertible is a March. Volvo is North American spec lol.

The other problem with Puma's rather than rust is the engine bores which are coated, if you didn't use the correct oil the coating wares away and they burn oil

@@Lot76CARS if you do sadly the 1.4 zetec is probably the best all rounder for today and the engines survive alot better 20 years down the line

Back when cars had character, and were easily distinguishable in a split second when you drove past them. Now it’s like “is that a vw, oh no it’s a seat” or vice versa, all look the same now

Tipo!!!!!!!! Still looks ok. Boring styling ish in day but stayed fresh ish to today. The Ital is awful sorry. It’s one of few classics I cannot get on with. Espero was nice
