You know I want to thank you for making these videos because I was thinking of possibly doing something like this. To save money of course! I have only watched two videos so far but you have convinced me not to do it. I want my truck to still be of value after it is complete. What I mean by that is in my opinion you have had to butcher the actual truck to much for it to keep value and its not on its original frame or a frame built for the truck. It makes it harder to sell in my opinion. Plus I don't have the tools or knowledge to do all that myself and would have to pay to get it done. But with that said If I had a truck and the knowledge and didn't care about selling it but just having it to have fun YOU nailed it!! Great job and awesome job on the detailed videos. well done.
@Rustomod2 жыл бұрын
We really didn’t have to do much modifications to the truck itself like I said in the videos we only had to convert it to a high hump tunnel ( which you can buy a factory one and not cut anything) and we used the original cab mounts we really didn’t have to modify anything else to the truck besides the bed which is the only part that is severely modified. I guess if you want to keep a truck stock and want to maintain the original value then yes making one all wheel drive and turbo LS would not be in your best interest haha. Thanks for watching glad these videos can help you some!

Really love this build and your 2 feet in approach! Can you provide some feedback on how you sorted the electronics, specifically the AWD and driveline wiring and what computer for the awd transfer case? Thanks and keep up the great work!
@Rustomod2 жыл бұрын
On this build for now we’re running a Holley terminator x (check out the interior video for the harness details) but the transfer case we’re running a 241c mechanical 4wd case so we don’t need any electronics for that to work. I might switch to the trail blazer ss case if I can get it to work with the 4l80e trans.

Great build. Do you know how much (inches) you had to raise the bed floor? I am thinking of doing this by making the bed fit and then bring the cab and front clip up to match and was wondering how much higher off the frame the cab an front clip would end up. Hopefully that makes sense.
@Rustomod2 жыл бұрын
It’s about 4 inches not a ton higher
@Gary_Pauls_DIY2 жыл бұрын
@@Rustomod That's good to know. So, build some mounts that bring the cab and front clip up 4 inches and overall a lot less mod work to do. I am looking at it as a daily driver. All original body, lowered slightly, but all wheel drive 6.2 underneath. Again, great work on the series.
@Rustomod2 жыл бұрын
@@Gary_Pauls_DIY the bed is raised that much because the frame kicks up in the back the cab sits flush with the frame and front clip we notched the frame to sit down into the frame. So you don’t have to lift anything. Look at the second c10 video where I explain the frame modifications and you can see how the cab and front clip sit.

@Gary_Pauls_DIY2 жыл бұрын
@@Rustomod I think I understand how you did it. I don't want to modify the bed. So, if I put the bed on level, it would be four inches higher than yours (because the frame kicks up). To keep the body lines correct, I would need to raise the cab and front clip to match. Do you think that would work or do you think raising the bed floor is the right way to go?

I’ll link the video where I talk about the frame it’s an 07-14 Escalade (same as a Tahoe) if you want to do a long bed look for a esv Escalade (which would be the same as a suburban ) to maintain the length. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJTXpGV_fb95odE
