I graduated from high school in 1967 and this was my dream car!! Of course my twin brother and I were driving a 55 Chevy and we were way behind the power curve but... we had wheels!! Thanks for taking the time and effort to document this great build. Im in awe of the skills that were shown to make this project a success!!!!

I have always loved the 55/56 Chevy over the 57s that so many like. They just looked cleaner to me. A 56 Nomad would be sooo cool!

You guys are lucky to find this car in this shape, especially 50 years after it was manufactured. I bought a 67 GTA back in 72 that was a complete rust bucket. Back then in my part of the world cars only lasted maybe 5yrs without rust coatings. I was 20yrs old when i bought the Mustang. I was plain stupid and didn' t listen to my Dad, He warned me not to buy it, so it lasted maybe 2yrs after a bunch of money and headaches, then I sold it just to get rid of it. I wish it looked like this car when I bought it then my Dad and I could have fixed it up. Ironically my Dad said years later we should have kept the car, this was after he said get rid of it.

Incredible job. What great talent you have. When I was in high school, a friend of mine with a rich dad had a '69 Green GT500. We took the 428 Cobra Jet smog motor out of the car and installed a professionally built 427 wedge with elephant Holley. Essentially a race engine with huge cam, solid lifters...could barely keep a starter in it, it had so much compression. I would easily smoke the tires in 2nd gear from a roll. He would let me drive because I had some ability with it. Almost all my friends went to engineering school and I went on to be an automotive engineer. Will never forget that car and no idea whatever happened to it.

This gentleman is such an perfessionist and the details of the build absolutely astonishing bravo theres some different details I would prefer in the inside including a bonnet or hood that slams shut instead of the wire alternative but absolutely beautiful the boot trunk inside I would put a rubber to prevent it from the elements beautiful sound systems 2x15 subwoofers and a thumping amplifier to add to the already beautiful centerpiece

I remember my friend ordering a new 67 GT500 towards the end of the model year. He traded in his 65 Mustang 289 hardtop. He wanted to get the new one "loaded" but there were a number of accessories that he was not able to get because the factory had stopped making those, gearing up for the 68 model year. Didn't realize there were that many changes between those two model years. One thing I remember him saying he wanted but couldn't get was an overhead console. Hoping I'm remembering correctly; that was a long time ago.

Body work is amazing and i was like YES when i saw the rack & pinion, cause i knew at least they were on the right path to upgrade to newer tech. R&P and IRS are absolute must upgrades for these older cars. Hard to tell if there was oversized or stronger box rails, which is also a weakness of the older body types. Additional subframes and/or cross-rails for big blocks are also an upgrade to prevent body flex. An A-arm from the transmission to the axle (like on the Camaros) would also help to stop axle twist torquing (were staggered shocks an option in 1967 ??).
