That is rusted out were mine is were the subframe bolt to the chassis rails and further back in the part we're it curves to go to the ninety degree angle mine is rusted through and not much holding to keep it from breaking..im going to have to drop the subframe out to fix it and im going to make a square tubular rails to run the length of the car and I will make some kind of yoke in the front to bolt it to the subframe were your working at..and I will isolate the tube to the body with bushings and then it will be like a body on frame design but i haven't worked out all the kinks yet because it is very hard to do what im thinking of doing but i always wanted to make a unibody car into a full perimeter chassis car ..very good job and so interesting u never see nobody working on jags like that. Very good video..I'm also just thinking about buying another jaguar that is in perfect shape and save mine for parts.

That would be interresting to see your work ! a good base to make a 4X4 style ! buy a first generation Range Rover and put the shell of the on it ;-) . Thanks for your comment
@davidmckinney657710 ай бұрын
@@psv1600 I didn't know that range rovers had a chassis on them I guess the older ones did and as they got newer they went to unibody construction. That's right range rover is kin to the jaguar..mine is a ninety-nine jaguar vanden plas it has the long wheel base. The body of mine has no rust on the wings or anything but the undercarriage is the worst I've ever seen on a vehicle. I don't drive it but I actually bent me a piece of angle iron and put it down through the chassis rail in front coming down the bulkhead and then back to straight again and I bolted in because mine is so rotted out I was afraid it would break apart moving it around and the jacking points in front and rear are still there but you can't lift the car from them I have to put a jack under the A frame in front and also the back..the front seats are basically floating in the car because the floor pans on each side of the hump are gone only part still is good it the trunk floor I'm surprised it is still solid, my late aunt had to give up driving and it was sitting for ten years and the sunroof was pouring the water and I fixed that .the interior and outside looks flawless it's unreal that it's rusted out so bad..I wish I could send you pics of it..I live in the United States 🇺🇸..in the state of Kentucky..
@psv160010 ай бұрын
Hello David, yes, as you say, it's the first generations of RRs that have a separate chassis, but the recent Discovery models are also equipped with one. It's certain that the rust comes from the fact that she's been sitting still for 10 years. It's probably due to moisture rising up from the ground. It's really sad, especially if you say it's in perfect condition! Have fun with it, in the USA you're lucky enough to be able to do a bit of what you want with cars, that's not the case here in France. You can write to me at psv1600@me.com to send me photos.
