I lived ,camped, on a tidal island for 11months , similarly about a quarter mile out at low tide . I had the coastguard called multiple times by idiots thinking I was stranded ,, just a thought . Love the stories , delighted to find these new uploads .

Loved the wolf story. Made me think of the one time I encountered a wolf--literally face to face. I will never forget the feeling of how "knowing" that creature was and how she looked right into my eyes to assess me, how she took her time, how she finally let me know her response to my presence. Oddly this happened in the office of a local veterinarian. I like all animals generally (except, I admit it, reptiles) but my nature is better suited to felines and I really don't know much about dogs. When the owner brought the beautiful animal into the waiting room, I thought it was a very large dog, so I responded with respect (as I think you should) and I didn't reach out to pet or anything like that (although I know other people who immediately reach for an animal they do not know) while I quietly stood my ground in front of the receptionist's desk, and I said how lovely the animal was. That wolf stood up on her hind legs to look carefully at my face--she was less than a foot away from me; her snout was much closer. She sniffed and she stared and she considered for about 30 seconds or more. I was surprised that she would stand for so long. Finally, she gave a deep breathe that sounded like a sigh that any happy and contented animal might make, and she laid down on her back resting on my feet. The owner was amazed. She said, "You realize, don't you, that this is a full-blood wolf. She has accepted you as a leader, and I have never seen her respond to anyone in this manner before. You should be honored by this." The owner made the offer I could pet the wolf, and I did so gently with respect because I really was in awe. I did not say what I thought to the owner but the plain fact is that I disagreed then and I disagree still that anyone should "own" an animal that should rightly be free. That wolf should never have been on a leash. But I still wouldn't have given up that experience for anything, and I will always wonder what it was in me that the wolf saw.

Full blooded? Sounds like a wolf dog. They just aren’t as dumb as domesticated canines, that’s why they seem “odd”.
@zzydny2 жыл бұрын
@@Tsumami__ This matter happened to me thirty years ago, and this is before "wolf dogs" were a more common thing. I have since seen wolf dogs, so I can tell you that the beautiful animal I saw that day WAS a wolf and I am telling the truth.

The FireFigure story was awesome,as I am a local to the Redding,CA area and spend time regularly ...and first my respect to the submitter of the story as the car fire destroyed so many peoples life's in many ways and devastated a community to the core..but in true Northern California fashion they have survived and began to overcome...and second ...to find beauty in loss is true beauty ...and I truly belive fire is alive ..it breathes, eats ,grows,and dies...and has many forms.☆☆☆☆☆

One time, at burning man, I saw in the distance 2 people riding bikes, engulfed in fire. The bikes and the people, fully in flame, calmly riding along. Always wondered how they pulled that off. That fire experience sounded strange and fascinating. It did sound like it could have been a creative writing project... just based on the writers style. But I tend to think most people sharing in these types of forums are sharing experiences they've had and need an outlet for. Most people don't think oh I know, today I'll get up and make something weird up and send it to rusty

I firmly believe that those 3 wolf sighting's were from the same wolf. And I also believe that this wolf followed the family as a warning. The wolf was a messenger for this family. And the family took off - they may have saved themselves from some horrible fate. Always respect nature and heed the warnings....
