Love me some Rusty West. Not only a great channel but possibly the greatest American accent of a narrator on all the KZbins.

I had an experience s few years back here in Oregon mountains. It was near a popular hot spring, and I used to trek around looking for other less inhabited hot springs - the hidden sort where one may do some digging to open up a pool to take a soak. My old Rottweiler and I hiked literally thousands of miles together, from city to forest service roads in the boonies. This was just another day, and we parked in a semi-remote spot on a cool damp afternoon - no rains , but misty outside. We followed a trail to the edge of ravine , and below was a steep cut with a tiny stream at the bottom.. We saw no trail , but the area was covered in ferns and decided to hike down to that stream and follow it down the mountain - in hopes of finding that elusive Hotspring. I could almost smell a sulphar scent in the air, so it seemed like it was calling us to explore... We scrambled down and down, holding ferns due to the steep grade, and my dog was in great shape - so was much easier for him. The small spring was only about 2 - 3 feet wide, and made a soft sound - like a babbling brook as they say ... On the decent it was hard to keep from going faster, as if it was a heavy magnetic draw.. We walked a couple minutes farther down the spring, and then felt like we had to rest.. My dog laid down first, and it was as if we were pulled to the ground by a mysterious force, pulling us down and draining our energy out and into the earth. It felt unreal, it felt unnatural and I was starting to realize that something was wrong here. . . I then began to feel more and more tired, and my feeling changed to a realization that we were under some heavy influence , a feeling of panic came over me, I suddenly understood that we had to get out of there right away, or we would not be able to leave. Maybe we would be drawn into vortex and sleep or go unconscious . There were no other people anywhere that could hear us, and it seemed like this place had no trail , and people just did not go there... I tried to pull my dog by the leash to get him on his feet... He refused to move... I got more panicked , and was more firm with him. He had never acted like this, he was always responsive on or off leash. I told him COME ! He still would not budge. I yanked his collar, and still he wanted to sleep... I then got loud , and forced him to his feet - dragging him ... It was obvious I could barely climb up this steep ravine alone, and the thought of leaving him behind was entering my mind.. That could not happen either... I then began sweating and the physical power in me was going away, I was in full panic by then... My big old boy weighted over 120 lbs , and I knew he had to climb his way out or be left there... I pulled on his leash harder to drag him, and he was almost limp... I yelled at him, and pulled hard as I could, then used the end of that leash like a whip - and snapped his hind end - knowing he had to move. . . He finally started to respond , as if he was fighting to regain his power, and little by little we climbed - grabbing on to the ferns . By the time we got to the top of that ravine - we were exhausted, soaking wet in sweat , and it was getting dark. The truck was another 1/2 mile walk - on an untraveled trail As soon as we got to level ground - we both walked with normal effort , but every ounce of our energy had been sucked out of us. It had felt as if we would have been drawn into the earth in that strange energy vortex - draining the life force from us. I still have to wonder what would have happened to us if I had not forced my dog to his feet and dragged him away. I must say it was the weirdest place I have ever step foot on. I am not sure if time was lost there, but it took all the afternoon to get back to the truck... And you wonder.... where was this place ? It is located as I recall - within 3 miles of Cougar Hotsprings - somewhat North NW . Do not go there . Thanks for reading my true event and may my old dog RIP - still loved after all these years.

Key Topic wow your story gave me chills I believe you ! I am planning a week into the wilderness with a buddy this june in East Sierras of California I like hearing this story as it makes me more aware, there is alot of places people havent stepped foot even in California, Nevada, etc. You mightve been severely dehydrated and didnt know it but who knows there could be spots on earth that have unknown energy.

Key Topic Look into BIGFOOT and how they can hypnotize you by the sound of a babbling brook. There is a story out there of a guy mountain biking with some friends he heard water as well he started getting hot and taking off his clothes and folding them. His friends rode up and asked him what are you doing? He said he snapped out of it and what he thought was water was really growling! Look into it.

Glad you are one of the lucky ones man , ive followed the works of that David Paulides and its crazy the stuff thats covered up about this subject . Would be interesting to know if there are any deep underground military bases near the area you went to . Just a thought .
@patstokes36156 жыл бұрын
The last story was similar to others stories of people feeling that they have gone some other place then where they should have been. Even Dave Paulids experienced something not normal in the forest. One day a friend and him went walking into the wood and they both realized that all sounds had stopped not even the breeze threw the pine trees made a noise, they also felt a great uneasiness. They sat down in the middle of the trail and sat back to backs as they felt very unsafe, and waited until it past. Something is wrong with our three dimensional world as if it isn't stable. When a person goes missing and then are found dead they have walked off into places and miles away from where they should have been.

About 4 yrs ago, I had a strange winter experience. I live near woods on one side and close to my backyard, my father-in-laws house on the other side. It had snowed one day/evening, about 2-3 inches, not too bad. After dark, I looked out my back door to see what appeared to be tracks going through the back towards the side. They seemed strange so I shut the door thinking I’ll look tomorrow during daylight. The next day I went out and was shocked. First, let me describe the tracks....NOT animal or human. They looked like ski or sled tracks but in miniature size...only about an inch or so apart. As if a fairy had come through on a tiny sled, my daughter and I said! We followed these tracks all over the property, all 7 acres....going though the woods, into my backyard and through my father-in-laws yard. They wound around trees, making loops around a couple trees. They went around any debris or leaf piles the snow had covered. The weirdest part was they went UNDER a glider swing I have in my backyard and the bottom of it is only about 6 inches from the ground. Like an idiot, I never thought to get a picture, which I regret. AND - same time, a neighbor down the road had tracks in her backyard coming from the woods, but these were some type of animal, paw print type, not too large, but she said it appeared to be walking on 2 legs. Does anyone have any idea what any of this could’ve been???

No, not a bird by any means. It looked like tiny ski tracks. Tiny .....as in Barbie size.

Yeah, this narrator is perfect. I've searched this entire week for a good story or a collection there of. Most are for kids, the theatrics are cool and all but it's just not what I'm looking for in a narration. Rusty tells the tale and leaves the stories shock factor to the audience. No "I'M SO DAMN SINISTER" voice fluctuations or loud jump scare improvs.

as much as the stories I hear on your channel may sound scripted the last story is something I've actually had happen twice. I've also encountered the complete silence before as well. I'm an ex boyscout and infantryman so I have no fear of the outdoors. the moment it got dead silent every bone in my body told me to get on guard as if there was some emergency state going on. obviously with the background I have I didn't hesitate to listen to my instinct but I still have no explanation if what happened or why. all I left with was an understanding of what real fear was which I guess is good in its own way

So can someone explain the final story? The guy was out hiking with his dog and adventure forward having this vehicle behind him and got spooked along with his dog to adventure onward, but decide not too, so turn back towards his truck and start heading back but since he felt too much time has gone by and notice no footprints or paw prints notice that so decide to turn back to the area he and his dog got spooked and notice he was familiar with some areas and saw his truck and found his way back?

Don't take this the wrong way, but is American English your first language? You have a VERY unique accent/speech pattern. I have a keen ear for accents and I can't place yours. The reason I ask is because there would be no better proving grounds than KZbin for an actor trying to perfect an American accent. You should check out some of the legends of the Appalachian Mountains. I wish my great grandmother could re-tell me the stories of paranormal events and encounters with rare wildlife. She spoke with such a thick Appalachian accent and used so many vernacular terms that, if she were still alive today, you may need an interpreter to understand her!
