also notice how the pickups were all conveniently still usable, despite supposedly being left outside for god knows how long he wanted us to believe. my strat from 2014 is having a neck pickup that has low volume output, frets almost flat from constant bending and playing. I put that strat in my room and it doesn’t even get exposed to sunlights. i wonder if this guy can help me rewound my pickups.

Well...as an ex-Luthier I was enjoying this, that Epiphone turned out sweet! But then I read the disparaging comments....still, that Epiphone is sweet! That Strat - my first Strat (bought for $200) with in good shape, hardly any fret wear- but the PO had spray painted the body with car lacquer and hadn't let the previous coats cure enough before applying more - instant wrinkle-paint job! I finished in natural in the end and removed the stock 'hard tail' bridge and installed a Kahler Strat-style bridge. Came out pretty sweet too 🙂

😮.. so odd. Someone left it out in a rainy mud puddle for a week...(probably less). Then dried it in a oven. Or on a dedicated heatn source..to get the poly finish to flake after water absorbed.. and hit with a hammer. (Yes I also swung a 20oz hammer for 25+ yrs as a carpenter. I'm not trying to disrespect your video. Just pointing out oddities .. then after all that to make it .. idk. ? Like this? Then they went and put on a new set of Strings?!??!? Because when you cut the strings off. They weren't rusted. As a guitarist who does a bit of work on Guitars. I can tell You. Strings rust Very easily...at least signs of pitting will be evident.. but. Hey. It's a fun video.. I personally don't care for pristine finishes.. I play my guitars and prefer them to be. And look played .. but. Hey. To each their own.. awesome wood grain on the fretboard...very visible and distinctive... great video 👍🎸. .. I'm scratching my head at some of the things I'm watching you do.. like oil the heads of screws a that are merely dirty. Wipe 'em ofc with a oily rag. The threads more than the heads.. but. .. what I find. Strange. Is those tuning keys .. you spent more on electric and tool wear and oil than buying a new set for $14. Or $7. . I get That it's a restoration. But at some point it becomes comical to go the extra mile to get crappy components back to their full luster.... Just Saying..
