I gotta point out Rusty wiggens stats compare similarly with kobe bryant his fg percentage and 3 are very similar kobe just scores 4-5 points more a game also rbs and assists are similar a couple more assists a game for kobe also kobe makes about one more free throw out of every ten compared to wiggens the big difference is defense definitely but it's a lot closer than I thought before I looked it up obviously stats don't tell the whole story

If your a real sports fan, especially a basketball fan, you’ll know that, at least 80% of a athletes game is mental.. Now I’m not making an excuse for Wiggins, but imagine being the most HYPED! high school/ D1 prospect since LeBron at that time (In my opinion well deserved) gets drafted number 1 to the pro’s, Then couple weeks later the biggest name in basketball probably in sports PERIOD! signs to your very team through free agency, then does not contact you, mention you, or nothing.. THEN! after summer league you get TRADED!! as a GENERATIONAL HYPED NUMBER 1 PICK!! TO THE TIMBERWOLVES!!! Not only was LeBron a DICK! towards a young Wiggins, but I’m very sure that messed with his mental and threw him off his GAME! I love how everyone forgets that situation and how it was handled. If that same situation was to happen to LeBron himself in 03, who knows if we’d get the same LeBron we have today!

@@jermainefran7070 I agree with you, and that's the reason why everytime Wiggins plays Lebron, he remembers that and he outscored him, head to head on 12 games Wiggins scored 25.3 pts/game (Lebron 24.5 pts), I know Lebron has won most of those games (Lebron has a 10-2 winning record), but now that Wiggins is not in a crappy team like Minnesota and he is in a winning team like the Warriors, plus you add that he is playing his best this season with way better defense than previous matchups against him, that record will change. I can not wait for their next game. So far in his first full season with Golden State, Wiggins has a 1-0 winning record against Lebron!

I genuinely think the majority of the blame should go to the Timberwolves. As you can see in Golden State, having someone like a Draymond Green or even a good coach who's always on your ass will always push you to be as great as you can be. Wiggins clearly has the work ethic but he just never knew how to utilize it or have someone to help him utilize it.
@randomnerd23323 жыл бұрын
Even though The Timberwolves do deserve blame, its not like Minnesota never tried to bring in guys who tries pushing others. They bought in Thibs who was knowm for being one of the toughest & intense coaches who was known for giving his starters significant minutes as well as trading for Butler, who even though didn't work out in Minnesota did call out Wiggins & the other young players for not workingas hard as they should be. I think most of the blame came to the fact that Wiggins necer tried to work as hard to reach the potential he had as to this day I remember when the Timberwolves were on ESPN & Doris Burke was announcing & called Wiggins out for his lack of effort.
@undrewwiggins17093 жыл бұрын
As a wolves fan I 100% agree. The Timberwolves franchise is a shambles and it starts with ownership, leaking all the way down to the players. I don't think things will change until Glen Taylor gives up the team, which is a shame because this year's roster actually has a lot of potential

And as they were running back on D, Kobe laughed and said “that looked familiar” and Wiggins replied “I learned that from you” and Kobe praised him postgame too. I thought that kind of recognition and praise would push Wiggins to work as hard as possible - at times he even looked like a young Kobe early on in terms of his build and game. He always gets assigned with defending the best wing/guard on the opposing team and he's defending them at a high level. He's also being a pretty good playmaker when he slashes for the warriors. He's been okay offensively and he could improve more. The problem right now with the warriors' second unit is wannamaker. He's been shooting the ball a lot thinking he's steph curry or something, which takes the ball away from wiggins, the supposed first option in the second unit. It's not helping that kelly has a scorer's mentality and takes even more away from wiggins

Sorry, but people acting like every 18-19 year old kid that comes into the NBA knows the exact way to develop his raw talent into "the next Kobe" is incredibly naive... being in a good franchise counts A LOT... especially for a kid like Wiggins that wasn't some ultra aggressive, confident dude... Wiggins is more like Steph and Klay than he is KG or Kobe... he smiles a lot, he enjoys relaxed people around him and not ultra aggressive "alpha dogs" that chew you 50 times a day which is why in GSW he's been showing what kind of basketball he should have been playing all along... cause his defense is DPOY level this year which everyone disregards cause "he doesn't put up enough points"... which is bullshit... an almost 20ppg DPOY level defender is an EXCELLENT player... not just good...

I'm excited about him going forward, he's not a fresh young player anymore, but the Warriors gives him the environment in which he can continue to improve, as if he's a new prospect. He'll be playing next to great players to learn from, and once the veterans pass the batons I hope he'll get into an all star level at the very least

You're probably correct, but remember, this is the timeline where the 2020 we got happened. In that alternate timeline, Kobe might have busted out of the league in 5 years, had a solid career in Europe, he is still alive and well, and we might have gotten a 2020 that didn't blow ass.

Wiggins is so mediocre
@Butteebean57753 жыл бұрын
@@612biggie I mean I feel like we use the word mediocre far too much. Wiggins a 18-20 PPG scorer. He's inefficient (bar this year), yes but that's still better than quite a good amount of solid role players in the league. Wiggins is an above average player. The issue is, his expectations were on the level of a Lebron, KD, Kobe, Curry, etc. type players that change entire franchises. Whether or not that's on him or the Wolves is up for debate.

People overthink this. I just think Wiggins plays basketball because he has a natural talent for it, not necessarily because he has a passion for it. Of course you have to like the game to go this far with it, but does he have an obsession for it? Nah, but that's ok. Most don't have the MJ/Kobe type of drive, some just do this for the paycheck. It's not the Timberwolves fault that Wiggins isn't better than what he is. A talent like Wiggins can change organizations if they have enough drive, he just didn't, and doesn't. I think a major passion of his is something like paintball, but no one is going to pay him $30m a year to play paintball.

I really wonder how good Wiggins would have been in Cleveland. Would LeBron have pushed him to be great, or would LeBron have broken him the way Butler did? LeBron and Butler are very different leaders but I have a feeling they’d rub off on Andrew the same way

He is not a waste, he was over-hyped. You always saw at Kansas that he was not a dog, lacked intensity, and often drifted. He is what he is...a solid 3rd or 4th option that can get 16-18 points in his sleep. The more he's asked to score, the less effective he is in other areas of the floor.
