Rustys Second Day Learning to Fly Fish | Utah Cutthroat Slam | Colordao Cutthroat

Part 2/3: Rusty and I headed to the North Slope of the Uintas in search of some Colorado Cutthroat. I signed Rusty up for the Utah Cutthroat slam and signed up for my second round as well. What a great adventure we had over the weekend!

I need my Colorado also but I really don't know where to go. I have two of the four. I could use some help as where to go. I really hate to ask but at my age I need all the help I can get. Do enjoy your time with your son.

No problem. I’ve had my best luck for the Colorado below Meeks cabin reservoir. I have another video from a year or two ago showing that area and the next video 2nd half will be that area as well.

A lot of those misses that you thought were takes may have been refusals. They will go up to take it but then refuse at the last second and what you see breaking the surface is their tail. It happens a lot on those slow moving sections where the fish are more selective. That is usually a clue that you need to change patterns and/or go with a smaller fly.
