On the surface, yes, and most particularly for "pseudo" kabbalists, in search of the total american dream. Genesis 1:27 - God created man (read: mankind) in His own image, in the image of God he made him (the word 'man' is a masculine noun, so the pronoun is masculine as well), MALE and FEMALE. The two, Adam and Eve together, is one of the ways we are made in God's image. Separately, we are incomplete. That is why marriage is between a man and a woman - not between a man and a man or a woman and a woman. A woman completes a man and a man completes a woman.

Study real Judaism and Kabbalah, just drop all BS fake “rituals” (like lighting candles, lighting menorah, repeating prayers from man made books, accept any knowledge without questions, believe in Torah as if it’s factual etc). Plus, all other fake rules, like not using electricity or driving, or weird food rules… ALL of that is FAKE! There were no candles back then, but oil lamps. There was zero mention of cars or electricity in Torah, like WТF! Also, no need to cover head or attach weird boxes with atraps on your head and arm, also NOT in Torah! No, you don’t have to separate meat and cheese (unless coming from the SAME animal). Also, kosher certification was invented in the recent DECADES, you don’t need to care about this fake stuff at all! Basically, study philosophy of Judaism and Kabbalah, but NOT fake religions made up from it. Amen!

What i got from all this is that religion is a form of philosophy that evolves and is interpreted through the ages by smart people with vast imaginations that were also good salesmen who were in turn able to sell their interpretation successfully. All you have to do is study popular leaders and teachers of religion now to see that the same thing is happening and will continue to happen as the smartest of sometimes most charismatic rise to the top and will be the ones whose ideas will live on into the future and people will say they had divine revelation either one because they told people they did or two because the time distance will make people interpret it as such.

The fact is that Rabbeinu Shimon Bar Yochai spoke excellent Hebrew and Aramaic, while the Zohar is full of errors of usage and grammar, and even contains mideival Spanish words like "snoga," which is judeo Spanish for synagogue. This book is a forgery and a collection of Midrash stories from mideival period.

Fascinating talk by an excellent speaker, which reinforces the view that Kabbalah is an ongoing literary creation that reflects the historical contexts and contingencies of its many imaginative authors and influences. Interpret it as you wish- as there is no 'correct/authoritative' interpretation (just like the Tanakh itself). Use it like a Rorschach inkblot test. An interesting factoid (alluded to in the video) is that the Hebrew word 'Pardez' and the English word 'Paradise' are related. Not mentioned here is that these were ultimately derived from Old Persian (pairidaēza, a pleasure park or garden).

Feivel Levertoff was one of the translators of what is still the premier English version of the Zohar (published by the highly-respected Jewish publishing company Soncino Press). This is interesting, at least from the point of view of the history of ideas. Surely another influence on the Zohar (assuming the ascription to Rashbi was mere spin) is likely to have been al-Ghazali (Algazel in Latin), who lived 200 years before De Leon and some of whose work was available in translation. His influence was clear and acknowledged in the work of De Leon's rough contemporary, Thomas Aquinas. Sufism and Kabbalism were already intertwined before al-Ghazali or De Leon (more..)

This line struck me particularly, because the "divorce" of the male from the feminine origin corresponds to what happens to the zygote at 8-12 weeks of gestation. The androgen kicks in from the Y chromosome of the father (who is the "boundless nothing" wholly outside of maternal relationship that sparks the lightning bolt from Keter to Malkuth), sexing the asexual zygote which is saturated with estrogen and develops as female by default without the biasing of the male hormone. As I was contemplating Mary a few weeks ago in a Freudian context, it occurred to me that rather than the Serpent being a "phallic symbol" that the idea of the absolure separation of materninty from lust is demonstrated by a fertilied egg being planted in the uterus, and therefore the "Serpent" in question that ultimately separates Shekinah from the baby is the umbillicus that ties them together. Mother is the entire physical universe to the fetus. Father is an instruction from an absent source: ayin soph. Nothing, yet the catylist to ALL. Birth means leaving the protected "garden" of the womb. The Sacred Heart of Mary thus corresponds to the placental formation itself that sustains the network between the endocrine system of mother and the fetus. Being "divorced" from the female aspect of God and "cast out of the garden" is the severing of the physical connection to the divine by being born and the tree of knowlege is the formation of one's ego and the awareness of being an autonomous physical body.
