Once I discovered Pastor Paul, I decided to go through the Bible completely with him, even though I had been reading and studying it throughout my life. It has been inspiring and a blessing.

9/6/23 727pm eastern time. Studying the book Ruth and I am so glad to have found you. Your anointing is so evident as you lovingly teach and preach God’s word. You explain it all so clearly and make the connection of how God’s word is for the ages and for all of life and every life! Thank you so much .

When Naomi said Boaz will tell Ruth what to do in chapter 3:4, it reminded me of John 2:5 when Mary told the servants to do what Jesus said. Naomi trusted Boaz and knew that Boaz would act, similarly Mary also trusted in Jesus and knew he would act according to his compassion and love for the people. Thanks be to Jesus Christ who is our redeemer!

I just realized that I should not be afraid of the unknown because God always has a good purpose, and He loves us. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things God works for the good of those who love Him...

Going through your Ruth series this morning and I will be honest, there have been tears, moments where I have deeply reflected on your comments made during the series thus far in contrast to where we are today (pandemic, etc.) and where I am in my relationship with the Lord but I have also had great bursts of laughter. I so greatly appreciate the way you teach the beautiful Word of God, Ps. Paul. I'm headed over to episode Ruth 4 (05/29/2014). This is a great way to spend my morning doing the series in its entirety - this is such good stuff. God bless you.

There is a redeemer, Jesus God's own Son. Jesus is our kinsman redeemer He had to be made like us - to be our kinsman in order to redeem us. Man had done the wrong so the payment had to be given by a man. Only Jesus was able - the kinsman redeemer had to be physically and financially able to do all that was necessary to fulfill the role. Jesus was able to fulfill the role because was sinless and he was spiritually rich. What was the role of kinsman redeemer? There were at least 4 parts to being kinsman redeemer: 1. If a relative fell into debt slavery, the nearest relative who was financially able to should buy them out. 2. If land was sold to someone else, they should buy it back for their relative. 3. If a relative had died without any children to bear his name and his name was going to be forgotten, the kinsman had the duty to marry the widow and the first child they had together would carry the name of the dead relative. To give descendancy. 4. The kinsman redeemer was also kinsman avenger/revenger. If the close relative had been killed, it was the duty of the kinsman redeemer to take revenge for the victim. Jesus is the one who buys us out of slavery to sin and death. Jesus takes back land ceded to the enemy. Jesus gives us back life and keeps us and our name for eternity. Jesus will take revenge for the persecuted. Vengeance is mine says the Lord. How do we come to the kinsman redeemer. We come in faith and trust in His character. Ruth had seen the character of Boaz before the night she came to present herself to him. We come in repentance. As Ruth washed and cleaned herself before presenting herself to Boaz, we need to confess and repent of, that is turn away from, and stop doing what is sinful in God's eyes. We come early. We find time to offer ourselves to Jesus. We put on perfume. The perfume of the temple was the incense burned to God. It was symbolic of prayer. So we must come in prayer. We come in the right way. Ruth did not come and lie beside Boaz but at his feet. She did not try to cover herself with the edge of his cloak. She lay patiently at his feet and when he noticed her she asked *_him_* to cover her with the edge of his cloak. She offered her surrender to Boaz. She offered herself by this way of actions and words to be Boaz's wife. Today it is unfashionable to speak of a wife being surrendered and submissive to her husband but if we are to come and be accepted by God, that is how we must come. Trust in Jesus. Read the gospel and see the character of Jesus. See that He is the only one who can redeem us. See that He is willing to redeem those who come to Him and ask Him to redeem them. Recognise that we cannot redeem ourselves. Boaz said that there was another who looked like he could fulfill the role but he either could not or would not. Don't accept false messiahs. There are many people who claim to have or be an answer - don't look to political or other religious leaders - they cannot give the ultimate salvation that we need. Trust in Jesus and the way of salvation He has already earned and offered for you. God bless you.
