Here after coming back from watching the 2023 Barbie movie! Had to learn more about the woman behind the doll ... fascinating to hear her!

You are all lied to. Ruth stole the design from Germany. The original is the Lilli doll from Germany and after Ruth went to Germany, she made Barbie and the first Barbie looked exactly like Lilli. Thief.

@@calistafalcontail😂😂😂😂 she used it as an influence, the doll is way different than Barbie. The body is similar but Barbie has vast differences. Sit down

There was a teen doll on the market before Barbie but not so sexualised as handlers copy of an existing German “doll” .
@squidgewinkle Жыл бұрын
She's lying when she says they didn't copy anyone. They got the idea seeing Lilli dolls in Europe, sexy dolls with optional accessories (targeted to men). Look it up :p

Yes it was a german doll that existed for years already.

You need a life….Barbie was influenced by lilli, but lilli has blonde hair, Barbie is a redhead & their faces are different. Feet are different as well. She uses lilli body shape and that’s about it

Ruth does go into extreme detail all about Lill in her autobiography that was published in 1994. I'm sure there wasn't enough time on this particular talk show for her to explain everything Mattel had gone through.
