I Still Believe - Joanna Ampil and Ruthie Henshall

I do not own the rights, for fan entertainment only. Just the song to pictures of Ruthie and Joanna. sorry theres not so many of Joanna just i already had more of Ruthie to use! I was suprised to find theres nothing of Ruthie singing I still believe so I thought it was time to post something new for you Ruthie fans. I do have a low quality sound recording of Ruthie with Lea Salonga but as I didn't record it myself I'm not sure it is fair I post it. But maybe I will sometime.

Just for the record, Lea Salonga and ruthie Henshall were part of the original London cast in 1989 while Lea went on to originate the Broadway production of the show in 1991. Joanna Ampil was part of the Drury Lane between 1992 - 1995 as she also originated the role of Kim in the Australian production in 1995. Now, Joanna went on to play Kim in the 1995 international cast studio recording of Miss Saigon entitled "The Complete Recording of Boublil and Schonberg's Miss Saigon" which the song in this clip is part of. Lea Salonga was Kim in the 1990 original London cast recording of Miss Saigon. and to clarify, there was never an official recording done for the Broadway show. Ruthie wasn't the original Ellen, that was Claire Moore (Sarah Brightman's understudy/ alternate in Phantom) But she did replace her and then went on to do the recorded Manila Cast

I think this is the Complete Symphonic Recording of the show, a specially gathered cast who didn't necessarily ever perform together onstage singing with a full symphony to give the score a fuller sound. Boublil and Schonberg did one for Les Miserables too.

True. Ruthie and Joanna may have sung their roles together onstage, though, as each were in the London production of MISS SAIGON in the 1990s.

I think this is the song in which she sounds better. I truly love her, she's one of my favourite MT actresses of all time, she's a breathtakingly amazing actress and has an unbelievable voice, but her voice isn't exactly... pretty (if that makes any sense). but here she sounds really good! :)

Lea is the original soundtrack Kim. But Ruthie Henshall is not on the original soundtrack so there is no official recording of them both singing together. This is 1995 recording not the original 1989.X

No it is Joanna Ampil. This is the soundtrack recording. I do have a live one of Ruthie with Lea and her and Joanna do have similar voices!

lea is the original kim in london and broadway. lea did the london album, joanna did the broadway album. lea and joanna sound similar ( but not the same. lea's voice is still the best.). the vocals in the london version album is better; the acoustics in the broadway version is a little better. but both versions are excellent!

very different in terms of skills and quality of voice but i like them 3, Lea, Joanna & Ruthie. Personally I think Kim will go better with Lea Salonga with her tiny bit of Asian quality in her voice

This is Lea, Joanna did the Symphonic recording whereas this is the International recording :)
