This really fits Step-Empress Hoifa Nara (Ruyi's real tittle). At least in the drama, the emperor was in front of her palace when she passed away. In real life, he was on a hunting trip with his sons. He only sent 12th prince back to the palace to take care of the funeral. It was treated as an Imperial Noble Consort funeral instead of an Empress funeral. But even still, it was supposed to be a Imperial Noble Consort funeral, but the 5 days of no government meetings and the cancellations of the royal children’s studies were not held off. And her tomb in real life was a cheap one. The Step-Empress is very pitiful.
