Absolute fucking masterpiece right here. The uplifting vocal, the melody..and the positive hopeful message. Go Ham

DJ Ham, missed in the scene. On point production and such a beautiful sound. Keep trying to persuade the current crop of producers to bring the sound back but I guess everything has its time and I am glad I was there PLUR

@2:14 I'm ready. Standing tall, shoulders back, saying the reverse of what people expect to make them laugh. This song basically changed my life and I love the people around me now. When you leave the grocery store, you leave the clerk smiling. That's what this song is about and it's deeper philosophy than a college course could even tangibly touch on the subject.

Just heard this thanks to Pandora on a DJ Hixxy or Scott Brown page...I've heard Ham songs before but not this one. Arguably in my top 10 favorite songs ever. It's extremely cheesy, which turns off most people, but the message is also extremely positive, and thus hard to dislike unless you're someone who hates being happy. How I missed this when I was 20 is beyond me.

hardcore lost it's brilliance when they ditched the breakbeats IMO. This tune would be so much more epic if the beat wasn't just a sped up euro techno/trance beat.

Okay it's been 8 years. In 1997 things changed the scene split and the "break" went into the dark side of hardcore, jungle etc etc. Hardcore carried one with "happy Hardcore" then they grew into "upfront" in the 2000's.

@@Katiebop89 thanks for the history lesson. I was there in London listening to pirates and Raving as it happened. I am painfully aware of the timeline. My comment was that the shiz that came after 96ish was mostly dull. Artists stopped sampling vocals and breakbeats and turned to session singers and sped up handbag house beats to try to force some credibility into the scene but it just sucked. It was just plastic. Who wants an out of tune session singer to sing 80s covers over a Euro techno beat with weak trance leads? At least the chip monk vocals and frantic jungle amens was a real anarchic expression of youth. What came after was almost a denial.

@@danphobic its just different. i prefer the 2000s side of hardcore. the glossy production with the fast tempos just feels fucking euphoric
