Use a Genconnex neutral bonding plug on your companion 2200, with a 50A to 30A adapter for your 50A shore power cord to the airstream. The larger 50A cord will provide more amps to the airstream.

Nice. I just bought a Yamaha 2200 with an easy start. But here in the 115 degree summer in Arizona it overloads the generator and shuts off. I'm waiting until it gets a little cooler out before I try again.

Try and make sure there is no other loads on while running the a/c. No fridge or electric water heater etc. Hope this helps! We've run our single Honda 2200 over nite to run the a/c with the fridge on propane and very little other loads.

I installed a soft start on my AC and it went from 55.5 amps in rush to 21.5 amps. The fan and compressor used 15.55 amps to run once the AC got passed the in rush. Be interesting to see how many amps your unit draws once it is running. I bet it is less than 17 amps. I think you generator is putting out 18.33 amps under perfect conditions. Your cord is the restrictor. Definitely will destroy your AC unit if you starve it of amps. Good stuff to discuss.

I have twin Honda 2200s that I run in parallel with the 50a cord. This just a demo to show that it is possible but I wouldn't suggest it. Thanks for watching another video!

Each AC unit starts off around 14 amps running. About an hour later once They're warmed up they will pull more around 16 amps.

Runs it yes but it will hurt or destroy the air conditioner if you run it with low amperage and low voltage.

Maybe my Predator 3500 was overkill. I would appreciate a lighter generator. I do think that a soft start would be an easy addition to prevent any damage to the AC from low power.

I am wondering that too. Our travel trailer will be arriving to CO in October. We will primarily be boondocking in CO and the immediate surrounding states for the next 5 years while I still work. I would REALLY like to keep the generator at those small suitcase sizes at 50lbs. I will go ahead and put a soft start on the ac just to keep the power level lower. Oh, it will be a 15k btu a/c.

How warm was the extension cord? With your converter running st the same time as the AC you are taxing the Inverter/generator and could also be damaging your AC and converter by using the single Inverter/generator.

Yes, it works but for how long? My Honda 2200i only ran my little 8229 BTU roof ac for 1 hour 18 mins. Who is going to get up every hour. will a easy start help the run time?

My 2006 has a genset plug at the front of the trailer that is separate from the shore power plug at the back of my unit.

How much fuel does the generator takes and how long it last?

The generator holds about 1 gallon of fuel .it can run for about 3 hours on full load. 18 hours idle no load.

We cant run our generators off propane, they're gasoline only.
