It is crucial to have an escape plan and know how to execute it in an emergency situation such as a fire. Have you practice yours?

Thank you guys for your video as well, its not as easy as people may think to exit out of a window. Yall's video was very telling and insightful.

Another thing to be wary of is, when you open a window you are supplying fuel (oxygen) to the fire and greatly enhances the chance of a flare up. So if the fire is in the front area of the coach section that area off (close doors, etc.) then head to the rear escape, close the door behind you, then exit through fire escape.

Very good topic to cover, I know we take this stuff for granted but I think you showed it would take a lot of effort if you are in the back of the coach.

That’s the truth, it is a lot harder than you think.

You have to remember that you are going to be disoriented in smoke/dark conditions and smoke alarms going off. You should set an alarm in the middle of the night and when it goes off make your escape and see how you do on time. This is a very good idea to do at home too. A meeting place outside the home/RV is a good idea too.

You are absolutely right, thanks for the tip!

If a couple are in a deep sleep no way could anyone make it out in 30 seconds. Especially people with pets and kids. But I think you are correct to know what your options are. How many smoke/fire detectors are in your coach?

Thanks for covering this subject. We don’t think about it while on vacation... You guys did an amazing job escaping- better than we could have done! Time from Rocky & Me to do some PT’s to get in shape… actually she already does, time for me to get on shape. 😂

Assessing the fire and going for the extinguisher ate up about 8 seconds of your escape drill. Your focus s/b on getting out of the fire and not fighting the fire.

My wife and I are both over 70 and don’t move as fast as we once did. So, I’m assuming if the coach catches fire that perhaps I can shove my wife out and I’ll have to go down with the Titanic!

I gotta give it up to you. You showed us when you failed the 20-second exit. This shows that we need to have as many suppressants available - Proteng, extinguishers, smoke alarms, regular drills and quick-release exits - to give us more precious, life-saving seconds. Be safe and be well, Darryl and Clayron.🙏🏾💙🤍❤️
