You should have weep hole covers also. Many older motorhomes lose them going down the road or over time degrade and fall out. They also help stop the whistling or windnoise you might be hearing up at cab area. On the outside use 303 seal lube to keep outside seals from drying out preventing the rubber seal from pulling out of window. Those already dried out can be stretched after using 303. A hair dryer can help to stretch the seal along with 303. Wasps like to get under seals crawling through weep holes or where seals have dried and pulling away from windows. Wasps lay their larvae and pull in dead grass that looks like straw. If you pull the outside seal out of window (take a cell phone pic so you know how to reinstall seal) you will see the larvae, dead spiders the wasp pulled in and grass. Clean the channel out, coat it with 303, coat the seal. You might be able to manipulate or massage the seal back in shape that it covers the entire channel. If not try stretching or using hair dryer. If you can't buy another seal. Coat all your outside window seals to prevent drying and shrinking. The seal should go all the way around the channel. If any gap it isn't right so try stretching or buy brand new seal.

Preciate it, noticed I was getting some water leaking into the house and thought I needed a new seal, but I just cleaned it out, dumped a half bottle of water thru it, and the tray didn't fill up and leak into the house, cheers man!

Love a good weep hole! Nothing like an inch or two of open space for all your A/C to escape on every single window. We have 15 windows in our RV.. that's a lot of open space. Add up the slide openings and it's amazing we can keep it under 90 degrees in the summer.

It’s true, weep holes do allow an air-breach (or breaches), however, when they are plugged and it rains inside your rig it’s a lot worse than being uncomfortable from heat!

Where can I buy the rubber seal that allows the window to slide in the window frame? I need to replace mine for two windows. The rest of the window is fine.

Im not entirely sure what’s the best for you or your rig (based on type and location), however, I prefer to find a good on-the-ground RV store, that has a knowledgeable staff concerning products-that is how I’ve found the best products!

don't use Peroxide it's highly corosev. It makes metal rust. Good idea just ese something else
@NRGcreations7 ай бұрын
I always wash the peroxide away with water after it has reacted either the debris (as shown in the video), so we haven’t experienced any issues with rust yet in our five years living in the RV.

Can bugs get into the RV through the weap holes by chance?
@NRGcreations Жыл бұрын
Probably, however, we’ve never had any major problems during our 4+ years of full-time RV.

How do you get a new channel? Mine is bend and I believe a new one to replace it.

Presumably you can order them online, or straight from an RV dealer.

Thanks for posting this video. Our windows are like yours; window track has weep holes but the screen track does not. Once water gets into the screen track it will then fill up and drip over on the side of the wall. Our back window also no weep holes. Other than regularly cleaning it, have you seen/heard of any way to keep it from filling with window condensation?
@NRGcreations3 жыл бұрын
This is a regular problem for RVer’s and the only solution I have heard of that is mostly effective is using a dehumidifier to reduce the overall humidity in the domicile. If you discover something superior, please share it!
@dcordero13 жыл бұрын
@@NRGcreations Totally agree with you on a dehumidifier. We have two but they barely make a dent when we are in the Pacific NW. Thanks again!

Thanks for the video. So it's somewhat " normal" for water to get in the windows correct ? Atleast in this fashion.
@NRGcreations3 жыл бұрын
If your weep holes are dirty and it rains significantly, then you are likely to have leakage in this fashion.

Can you help what i do not understand is how the water if trapped goes into the wall and under the carpet? I have cleaned my weep holes out but not with wire like others use. Lifted the rubber seal and cleaned where do i get hydrox peroxide?
@NRGcreations4 жыл бұрын
The water that exits the weep holes from overflow, due to blocked weep holes will run down the outside of the wall and possibly enter the wall and carpet. There are so many potential sources for water leaks in an RV, so the biggest difficulty is eliminating leaks one by one, and then completing regular maintenance to ensure likely locations do not contribute to further leakage. I do not use wire in the weep holes because it can abrade the metal runners and interfere with a proper seal. Hydrogen Peroxide can be found at most grocery stores and pharmacies near the rubbing alcohol. Here’s a more comprehensive video about water leaks: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqayeoSXjLV0ns0

@@NRGcreations Thanks AS i live in New Zealand way down down under i am finding it difficult in getting the seals replaced. Where oh where do i get the right seals from please? The weep holes are clean and clear of dirty junk checked them 8 times in two days . If you have somewhere i can order the seals from that would be an advantage thanks Noeleen
@NRGcreations4 жыл бұрын
It would depend on your make, model, and type. I suggest googling RV, Motorhome, Trailer supplies and see what matches your situation best, then determine if you need to order online or if there is a dealer in your area. By the way, where did you see our video?
