How much to install the upgraded hitch to the model 3?

This is very frustrating, a lot of videos about towing things way more than hitch on the market can handle. It’s a custom setup that no one wants to offer. I would love to pull a Basecamp 20 with my Model Y but I had to settle for the Basecamp 16 and use a tongue scale to balance the trailer to ~10% tongue to trailer weight ratio to keep it under the manufacture specs, not to mention remove a propane tank. I would really like to see someone offer a hitch like this as a DIY or kit a local shop can perform with a kit.

I would find it hard to believe that Tesla has a tongue weight great enough to handle the 20x bc tongue weight of 430 lbs

OK. I am confused about towing. In the US a dealer would recommend at least a mid sized SUV our a 1/2 ton truck to tow this. Can I tow with a car?

They are towing with a dual motor Tesla which is all electric and has a significant amount of torque over a traditional car. It also has a special hitch as this model Tesla doesn't come with one. A bit misrepresented over a traditional car so I would agree with your dealers recommendation.

No! a car with 4 or 6 cylinder won’t cut the mustard for towing this payload. However for a small pickup truck or any 1500 it’s amazing

Over priced yes high end quality still overpriced when I could buy the biggest 5th wheel on the market or I’d buy the new biggest intech travel trailer for the same price and it’s Hugh with sooooo much more space with the same quality.
