Nice 5th wheel. You can tell it's a high quality unit, nice to see. I have 1250w of solar and 2240ah of Lifepo4 cells in my 45' DP. Great to have no worries about battery capacity.

Nice 5ver. For those that are maybe new to RVing, or perhaps seasoned but thinking about a similar setup, we need to talk about the tow vehicle. I know the owner put airbags to level the ride, but it is overweight. I don't mean the published towing numbers - these are marketing gimmicks that get a lot of RVers in trouble. The limit that is exceeded with this setup is the F450's payload capacity. The pin weight for that fifth wheel, empty, exceeds that truck's payload capacity alone, even without the fuel and drivers and gear and batteries and generator, etc. Will it tow it? Yes. Safely and without premature failure of truck components? I think there is a misconception about the towing capabilities of the F450. Any F350 configuration, long bed, short bed, regular, super, crew cab will have a higher payload capacity than the F450. It's not close - we're talking 700 to 1000 lbs more, even with the diesel crew cab 4x4 DRW F350, the heaviest F350 trim offered. Check that yellow sticker on your door pillar and get the actual pin weight for your 5ver to make sure. This is the weight limit that gets exceeded most, and often without the driver's knowledge. It's the main reason that 1/2 ton towable setups are so suspect. Sorry, just wanted mention it if it helps someone. The owners said they were new to this and I wonder if a dealer gave them bad info to close a sale.

Very Nice. We love the Luxe! We looked at these and absolutely love the build and construction. We have a Momentum 397TH with 8 battleborn and 8 330 Watt REC panels making 2640 Watts. They were installed by #thedrycampers. The only thing we wish we could have with the Victron system is a little beep or some type of audible to know when it switches over to rig power if something goes wrong with shore power. Switch over is so seamless. Thanks guys.

Thanks for sharing these are beautiful coaches. My wife and I have a Luxe 44fl being build for us right now. One thing the Ford F450 dose not have a high enough payload to handle there coach the Ford f-350 actually has a higher payload capacity.

I have a friend with with 4000 watts of solar with two Multiplus II. and 17 SOK 206 ah batteries. I was plugged into a 20amp plug on his coach for a few days in Quartzsite. I have to get by with 700 watts of solar and 400 ah of Lifepo4 batteries on DP

Hi Greg! We've heard that people fill up at a church in Port Lavaca, but we don't know which one. There are also a couple of RV parks as you drive into Magnolia beach, so they may allow you to fill your tank for a few bucks. The fishing wasn't great, but fun nonetheless. Our Frenchie, Rikki, was a keen fisherdog whenever I had the pole in the water.

My wife & I want to do this so bad. We have the financial situation & everything we would need to get started. I’m just super intimidated by the 5th wheel. I’m ok with driving. It’s the backing up in tight spots that has me intimidated the most. Please someone tell me am I overreacting because I’m sure I could do it. Just don’t wanna get in over my head. I’m looking to find places that might teach pulling & backing 5th wheels but not sure if that’s a option. Anyone have suggestions or is it a learn as u go. I definitely will be that guy at rv park with line stacked up going look at this jackass lol & I for sure don’t want that. Haha. I enjoy watching these videos & I envy everyone out there living their dreams. I’m a few steps from pulling the trigger on this thing. Just nervous

You’d be surprised at how quickly you get the hang of things. Large rigs like this do make it a bit more difficult to fit into smaller RV parks and campgrounds, so doing good research on site sizes and obstructions is key!
