Many RV newbies have little or no experience using propane. Removing RV propane tanks, taking propane tanks to be filled and replacing propane tanks in the RV is not hard, but can be confusing to RV newbies. This video will show you how to remove a RV propane tank. It is virtually the same as how to remove propane tanks for RV trailer.

AMAZING that the place I bought my camper at did NOT go through ALL the processes involved in removing the tanks-checking them either by the indicator!!! Camping World in North Charleston, South Carolina has THE WORST Customer Service I have EVER encountered!!! With SUCH a BIG investment-this is REALLY BAD! I have had to call the Tech Service and go online numerous times to get the answers I have needed! Thankful for KZbin!!!!!!

THANK U ! Very clear to understand ! Chose this one first because I figured TEACHERS would explain BEST ! I've been afraid to mess with tanks ever since I got RV 2 years ago. Have not used for heat or anything even though been getting so cold to where THICK Frost covering INSIDE of all windows. But still been scared to use the propane for heat. THANK U for doing the video !

I think many people understand the concept but wonder how it all helps you to know when to check--you still have to go out, remove the cover and check frequently.

What happens if you don't switch the autochangeover valve to point to the opposite tank when you disconnect the empty tank (that is, the valve is still pointing to the empty tank)?

I talked with Sharon, and she didn't seem to think it would be a problem. The way the valve points will be determined by your specific tank.

Nice video in general, but two teachers should know that it’s a water heater, NOT a HOT water heater. You heat water, not hot water--which is (doh!) already heated! : )). Also, kindly refer to the arrows by number so that your words match the picture and maybe a little detail on just HOW one detach(es) the tank from the frame.

We grew up hearing "hot water heater." I can see that it's redundant, but I imagine, despite our best efforts not to, we will continue calling it a hot water heater. Sorry if this bothers you. We're also sorry that you couldn't see how to detach the tank from the frame. We'll try to do better in the future.

I'm a plumber, in some cases recirculating pumps are installed on the systems, what it means is that you take hot water from the heater and send it to your fixtures, then that hot water that didn't get used is sent back to the heater to get reheated. Technically you are heating hot water to save money. Calling it hot water heater is not right but not wrong either.

One more thing, even my six year old can tell that removing the nut (1:27) and hoses can free the tanks. Remember lefty Lucy right tighty 😉 please be nice on the comments if we knew everything then youtube wouldn't exist.
