I did not have the leaks that you did, just constant pump running. When I went to remove the filter, it was loose. I cleaned, replaced, and tightened the housing, the pump ran, filled the water heater and stopped pumping water as desired within a minute. Thanks Sir

Thanks Michael. I bought a new pump to haul along with me before I last trip. Now I know how to replace it. Good idea on keeping the old one for spare parts.

You're very welcome. I was surprised when I found it leaking, I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting the pump or motor to fail. Boy was I wrong lol

6:37 You don't have to cut the red wire with the inline fuse. You can unplug it from the pump switch and just plug it into the new pump as is. You'll find a plug with a wire tail in the new one. Just unplug it and save it for future fun.

Thanks again Edward, it should be located right next to your water pump like ours is.

I was hoping to see you disconnecting the electrical wires when you were taking the pump out. Is it hard-wired in on the motor side?
@thetraveltrailerguy Жыл бұрын
Yes it is hardwired to the motor, I'm sorry I didn't show me cutting the wires - kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJC6oWmLeLN6qMk SHURFLO 94-800-00 Model 4008 Complete Upper Housing - amzn.to/3UfUJ7r SHURFLO 4008-101-A65 3.0 Revolution Water Pump - amzn.to/3DALUPB SHURFLO 4008-101-E65 3.0 Revolution Water Pump - amzn.to/2UjqgLN SHURFLO 94-237-00 Series 2088 Check Valve Kit - amzn.to/3hxOd9N SHURFLO RV Trailer Pump Filter Fresh Water Pump Strainer - amzn.to/3NPY2jg www.youtube.com/@thetraveltrailerguy/videos

Awesome job on the video work and explaining! I have a 2020 trailer I’m finding water pumps and LP regulators are going out early so I carry spares now.
@thetraveltrailerguy2 жыл бұрын
Its interesting, I never expected the pump would leak someday. I did think the pump or motor might fail. I was wrong it leaked first to make it fail. I guess now I need to worry about the LP regulator now. LOL Thanks so much for watching and commenting. kzbin.infovideos

Nice Job Michael! We have a spare pump that we use to transfer water into the freshwater tank when we boondock. I bought the exact replacement as you just never know when the pump is going to fail.
@thetraveltrailerguy2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. That's not a bad Idea having a spare :) I might just buy a replacement head for the one that went out and attach it to the old motor as a spare. Happy Camping
@Maxid1 Жыл бұрын
It's a good idea to have a spare pump. But you can buy just the lower pump body to save money. To remove the pump body, just remove the four corner bolts. If you want to take the pump diaphram apart, remove the other four bolts.

Another good video, Michael, but I am also inspired by the labeling on the water lines. I'm definitely planning to do that to our new Rockwood. Also - another hidden fuse! ARGH why does the RV industry do that!? It's SO frustrating!

Another great video. I was also looking for one on replacing the CO2 detector. Have you done this?
@thetraveltrailerguy2 жыл бұрын
I haven't had to replace our yet. are you talking about the CO2 detector or propane detector? This detector does both CO2 & Propane detection amzn.to/3ODTpcl
@Edwardsjourney2 жыл бұрын
It's very easy replacement. Remove the old one cut the 2 wires and reconnect to the new ones. You'll know when it needs replacing by nonstop beeping. However, I did did have to do some trimming because the replacement I bought was slightly bigger. The face was the same but not the part that inserts into the wall. Wasn't a bit deal easy peasy.

Am I correct that the inlet and outlet fittings just screw on. The video does not show you doing that. Were you able to get them off by just turning them with your hand or did you need to use a pair of pliers? Thanks for the video have to change the same water pump this weekend.
@thetraveltrailerguy2 жыл бұрын
Hello Gary thanks for watching and your question. Yes the inlet and outlet hose fittings just screw on and off. You may have to remove them by using pliers to get them started and then by hand the rest of the way. And to put them back on turn them until they are snug and give them a slight turn more with pliers but not really tight, just snug tight. Run the pump and check for leaks. I hope this helps. www.youtube.com/@thetraveltrailerguy/videos
