IN THIS EPISODE
Another episode in Austin, TX. Carson turns 13 and Tricia’s dad and I took him for a surprise event with a Former Marine Sniper. As you can tell from the video, he’s a great shot. Then we met-up with Marc’s sister Cathy for a tour of the church and Austin Texas night life. After Thanksgiving with the Tricia’s family, we enjoyed two of the best hikes in Austin - Hamilton Pools and West Cave Preserve. Now we’re off to the River Walk in San Antonio and the Alamo before heading to Carlsbad Caverns.

I know I’m a few years late to the party but on a cold night even with no electric you should have been able to fire up your gas stove top. Would have been a great time to boil some water for tea or hot coco! :)

Hey guys, I love the videos. Recently bought an RV and will take her on her maiden voyage in a couple of weeks. I have many adventures planned. You may have addressed this in previous comments but I'm curious about your camera gear. I've notice what looks like a DSLR camera that you are shooting video with and also a GoPro. I'm a novice to filming and would love some tips and tricks that you use to capture your adventures, a run down of all your gear, how you file and organize your footage, and how you edit your videos. Hey Guy's, Thanksgiving with family in Austin was a blast for y'all. We must go down towards Austin and check out the pools we've never been there. Have you purchased a solar panel? Can't wait to hear more about it if you did. We went to pickup "The Beast", our trailer last week from the shop, and come to find out some of the repairs were only partially done. We ended up leaving the trailer to have the work finished. May take several more weeks 😣 Were looking forward to getting the trailer back so we can get back up on the road. Thanks for responding to my concern for car seat belt safety. In all of our vehicles, if someone is not wearing a seat belt, an annoying alarm goes off in the car until they put it on again. I hope that the boys will wear their seat belts from now on for their safety and yours. Keep up the good work on recording your adventures!

Yeah, our back seat does not do that. It was be nice if it did, but had a button to turn off when it wasn't necessary like caring luggage, etc.

Yeah, it's the safest way all the way around. We were shooting 9mm and GLOCKS. The targets ended up at the end of the field. I'm sure there is a standard distance.

Great videos yes to the solar and battery bank . With your crew I would put in about 4 to 6. 6v Deep cycle battery's highest amp rating you can Afford or lithium (400/600amps) . Then solar panels 2@ 250w to start with more is better. Keep the shiny side up.

In my upbringing i n N.E. Texas we were taught at a young age to respect and know how to shoot safely. We had an unlocked gun cabinet us children knew to never to open unless the unthinkable happens.Then yes I can protect my mother and sister and have had the instructions to do so. With the knowledge that I learned with gun safety and the know how.

Yes, I record everything at 1080 at 60fps. This gives me the option to slow by 40% or 24 fps without losing a frame. We love Austin. We'll be back for sure.

Keep Your Daydream I meant to tell you! I don't know if you've ever heard about the documentary called Chasing Bubbles, if you haven't, please check it out! As soon as I heard you talking about sailing the world I wondered if you had heard if it. It's a doc about a guy, Alex Rust, who sailed the world. I actually went to high school with him. He died unfortunately. He was a legend in life and death!

Thanks for mentioning it! Yeah, we were with Sailing Totem right when it came out on YT and Totem met him on their travels. Great movie. Sad ending. Love how some people are so open to any possibility and seem to have everything come their way. Good reminder to me to not force a plan, but let it unfold. :) I'm sure there are a dozens other lessons if I watched it again.

I really respect what you did to teach your kids about gun safety. I watch your episodes whenever they are available to me and i really enjoy traveling along with your family. There is one thing that really bothers me though and that is the fact that often your kids are not wearing their seat belts! I am a big advocate of seat belt and car safety especially for children and have had personal loss because of vehicle accidents. Although you as their parents seem to always be wearing them, the kids are not and it's hard to watch.

Thanks Peg. I agree. We're constantly turning around to find the boys don't have them on and yell at them... and they say, "I was just..." It's a work in progress, but we do get on them for it. And you're right, the videos show us how often they have them off and then I yell at them again when editing! :)
