Hey dumb question. So lets say you have the battery out, and now you have 2 black wires. To find out which is negative and positive. Could you do a continuity test by touching one multimeter lead to the frame of the RV and seeing which wire is ground?

Best thing to do, when you have no battery connected, is to trace the cable that goes to the frame. Then you are sure you have the right cable. But you should be able to check continuity by checking each cable and grounding to the frame when looking for your ground cable
