We’ve never done this but we have received several comments and questions on our Alaskan adventure that we wanted to address. RVing to Alaska is one of our best memories and we’ve been blessed with many in our life. Unless you are just naturally stressed out when faced with an obstacle (and that’s ok too) then we suggest you GO FOR IT!!! The struggles were part of the adventure and we are able to look back and laugh about it now! Except for those dang mosquitoes. Nothing funny about that!!
You can always reach out to us at hello@lifebetweentheditches.com or via Instagram. We promise to respond.
If you are going to Alaska in 2023, tag us in some of your photos. We want to follow along YOUR adventure!!! We wish we could go for the very first time all over again!

I have truly enjoyed your videos. I currently live in Anchorage, AK and have driven the AlCan 3 times. One was in a Yukon snow storm. Stepped out to get gas at some point between Whitehorse and Watson Lake and sunk almost knee deep in snow. It is quite the experience. I did not have a single issue… If you do your research, prepare and prepare some more you’ll be just fine. I did it in a Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with the bed stuff with my travel gear, 2 spare tires and a 5 gallon gas can, along with a dog and a cat up in the cab with me. The oilfield ruff-necks would barrel right on by in their big trucks and laugh “Little lady in a small truck”, and I would just wave and head on down the road. I think I was the smallest truck out there. That’s what memories are made of. I wish you two nothing but the best! Hope you are safe out there on the road, wherever you maybe. And above all else, safe from ALL those Canadian wildfires!!! This year has been awful fire year for our Canadian neighbors… ✌🏻

Awww. Thank you! That is hilarious 🤣. You are a brave soul to tackle a Yukon snow storm. It really is just about preparedness. We are hearing from people it was pretty brutal this year but at the end of the day……All’s well that ends well!

Hi guys! We've been enjoying your videos. We went to Alaska 2022 as well and had a great time. We put Good year endurance tires on our 2015 2500hd chevy and our 2017 303rls Reflection and didn't even have to add air to them. We had Tireminder tpms and it worked great. My advice is to just be prepared! Anything can happen. Our round trip from Michigan was 13,000 miles. Some of the worst roads were in the Chicago area! ha ha! Anyways, we love your videos and wish you the very best in your future endeavors!!

Just want to let you guys know...Great series. I hate when "most" KZbin channels make it seem glamourous and nothing but fluffy puppies and kitties...You guys gave the truth of the matter..It is a demanding trip..As far as the mosquitos...NO...they always been bad. I lived in Alaska for years as a kid...Dad was USAF...now live in SE Texas....They have, and always will be bad, as that's part of The Great Adventure.

Oh, wow. Thank you for such kind words. We aren’t really trying to be “KZbinrs”. We just wanted to make a quality documentation of us having these great adventures for our kids (and maybe someday grandkids) to always have in case dementia ever gets us like it did 2 of our parents. Thank you for acknowledging those mosquitoes!!!! We agree that people that rely on KZbin for income seem to make everything bizarrely “sunny”. We had NO idea those mosquitoes would be so bad!!! You are a warrior for living through that. It felt very apocalyptic!! We think even with all the hassles it is still worth it. We always end up laughing about it in hind site.

Enjoyed watching your journey. I tell everyone we know, that we are going on an "adventure" to Alaska this summer. I am sure it will not be a "trip." I have my husband now saying, "recalculating," every time the trip plans have to change. From places not being open yet, to "oops, I am so sorry, but that stay I quoted you, with a bus/train trip won't happen. Our bus won't be working yet." We are so excited for you! We have previously left our dogs with hollow bones that we stuff with peanut butter or we freeze Greek Yogurt in them to make us leaving a happy moment for them. We have switched to “licky mats” this year which are the best invention ever. We do have to limit our excursions to half days due to the dogs so they are never alone more than 6 hours but we have boarded them overnight in Montana and Arizona so we could do a full-day excursion. We also leave the RV unlocked with a “Dogs Inside” sign in case of an emergency. We’d rather be robbed than them be hurt and there isn’t much in the RV worth taking so we always hope neighbors would notice if someone was carrying our TV’s out. Oh, no!!!! There sure are a lot of Covid Campers out there. We had downsized to a 28 foot Reflection 150 in the fall of 2019. We ended up taking it cross country with 3 adults and 2 dogs during 2020 to remote locations while our oldest daughter was studying for the Bar Exam. Hence how we ended up with a 34 foot - full profile Solitude 😂. We had a great time and never had a single repair with that rig but it sure did shrink over time with all of us in it. The Alliance Avenue 22ML reminds us of that rig but it really is just a brilliant use of space for a small RV. Gotta love a great design! If you do decide to sell the Pinnacle - sell privately. Our trade in value was 30,000 less than our private sales price.

We hope this next 2 years fly by for you. It’s an exciting time!! We started off with a Pull-Rite and loved how secure it felt as new Rvers. It was a bear to get in and out and took up the whole bed. We switched to the lighter B&W which was lighter but still large. This was our first goose neck and aside from the bed space there was definitely a noticeable difference in towing. They all did a fine job and got us all over the country safely but the air bag in this hitch smoothed out the ride.
