RVC Sema Build - Van Compass Suspension overview

The best upgrade we ever made to our Sprinter on 35’s was to throw away the VC rear packs and have a custom set made by ALCAN. 😊

Alcan makes a great product; if we were closer I think we would be a customer for them. I’m a big fan of the new VC Opti-Rates; if you’re comparing a solid leaf pack upgrade to their add a leaf stuff, theres no comparison to be made, they’re going to be better. I like the new opti-rate leaf packs because of their adjustability and versatility, also now that the van is fully built It’s nice to have leafs that can really handle the weight of this massive van. Did you relocate the def tank? I would imagine 37’s would hit it! I’m running 33’s with zero offset and it rubbed at full lock. I ended up reshaping the def tank 😳

Yea, we had to relocate the entire thing, which was…fun🤪. We were putting off moving it; and it was homicidally close to the front tire, but then one day the entire shop went out for a rally and margaritas session and long story short, bye bye factory def tank haha.

What was done for the regearing? What are you running for ring and pinion? 37 vs 30 inch tire yields a 23.3% reduction in gear ratio. Or are you just lugging the motor? What are your EGTs running with the engine lugging under load? What has happened to gas mileage under load? For example, hilly roads and highway?
