Honestly, the way i see it, it seems like the guys take a lot of the things they did on the indies and in training schools for granted, and don't tighten up when they are in the show. They got so comfortable with small "smart" crowds that they genuinely never learned how to make the stuff look the way its supposed to look.

When Bill started, Pro Wrestling Illustrated was on stone tablets! Seriously, Mr. Apter is a Legend among Legends in Pro Wrestling media. Just think about how many wrestlers he's been around over the decades....it is mind boggling! Never heard a single bad word from any of them, and in the wrestling industry that is almost impossible.

there might be too many that dont get the ratio of when to use highflying and when not to.. Like Shawn Michaels was a high flyer but that's not all he was and he used those spots at the right time.. I think a real issue is there are no real sellers today... Ricky Steamboat can still outsell these kids today and it's a problem. They cant tell stories with their matches because of it. I've also noticed a lot of just halfassed stuff when they get gassed.. If you cant do it right when you're winded then dont do it and dont do those matches because it just looks bad

I think if the wrestler is a high flyer and doing high flying moves it makes sense. Darby, Fenix, Jeff etc. Theres situations where hangman does the moonsault off the top to the outside but i dont see anyone else doing that same spot.

Yeah, the moves in the matches seems to be delayed often. I saw a match where somebody got speared and it took like a good 15 seconds before the next moves. They had to relocate to the turnbuckle fo that next move….just different

Yeah and back in the day only one guy could do a power slam. They used to not come out to music. Only the main event guy got pyro. I also remember lots of people chanting “boring” in the late 80s/early 90s. If you want to know why the style got more athletic, that’s a big part of it.
