I'm scrolling through the comments--I didn't see anyone addressing the cupola of Holmes County, Millersburg, Ohio Court House. A cupola returned to the position June 10, 2021, by Midstate Contractors, after it had been removed 68 years ago!!! Used a lot of casino money, according to Holmes County Commissioner Joe Miller. I think this is a few years old. Still good to see. I live in Wooster, Ohio with the largest Amish community in the USA. Love this town. You always say how much snow we get here in Ohio. Feb. 19th and less than an inch so far this winter. It was 72 degrees one day last week. Its now 55 and sunny today. We just don't get much snow. Wooster is a beautiful college hilly town where all the people are so kind and helpful. Just don't look for wokie people here. LOL Good show Russ.
@kesmarn Жыл бұрын
The info given at the top dates this from February of 2023. I agree; it does seem older. But then in Amish country, things change slowly. I guess that's why people go there.

@kesmarn Жыл бұрын
@@heatherfulmore3412 LOL! Not so much here in the NW corner of the State. But you can still see lots of horse and buggy transportation to the east and a bit south of where I am. It probably takes those horse and buggy folks just a few days *less* time than it does us flatlanders to get mail.

So, so clean. I didn't see a single piece of trash in the entire video . I live in DC, trashes are everywhere, city street, side streets, highways, free ways, you name. Nowadays trash is the hallmark of most US major cities. Amish country is like a heaven on earth.

Amish have the BEST math school book around. Nice video. Back in 2010 Ohio, I was in Steubenville, home of singer Dean Martin, looking for an old Army buddy Vietnam circa 1967 named Harold T. He told me he worked in the coal mines. He got drafted to stay out of jail at age 22. He was right there in the Courthouse. It's a long story about training on helicopters and our Vietnam service '68. His dad died while Harold was in Vietnam. I finally found his phone number. Point being is when one serves with someone under duress and stress, they tell you everything about family, friends, the town. So while I was in Steubenville, I felt like I lived in the place once. My buddy died in Vietnam that had lived on Squirrel Hill in Pittsburgh. Godspeed RVer. Eaglegards...

@@thisisobviouslynotmyrealname I gave the arithmetic book to my daughter. I know it's the standard Amish arithmetic book. Lessons taught include arithmetic (not math), and they often use agricultural arithmetic books printed in the 1930’s. Lots of drill games and flash cards are used, especially for the lower grades. Workbooks are used for most subjects.
