Stacy as I grow older (60's) I find myself not wanting to take any more chances on life that I have to. I for sure would of done that river you did when I was in my 30's or 40's but not now. Your two fears are the same for me. Heck I get scared climbing a tall ladder now. No way would I swim a mile off shore in the ocean now. But in my younger days it was fun. Paul you wait another 10 years and you will be the same. Of course you act a bit "happy go lucky & crazy" now, but wait. Good video and be safe and have fun. Which I see ya doing all the time.

I can totally agree. I feel so blessed we can do this at such an awesome age. I lost my father at age 60 and at age 44 he began living his life because he knew he wasn't going to be around until old age. He showed me how one can live life to the fullest at any age and I am proud to be a nomad like him. Now he is my guardian angel as I conquer these fears of mine... but yes there will be no jumping out of a plane for me unless its going down and I have too!

So proud of you, Stacy. Phobias suck and are so irrational. I have a horrible fear of heights (well, falling from heights). And I know how hard it was for you to do that.

Stacey, the definition of brave is doing some that your are afraid of and doing it anyway. You are one brave girl! Look like you all had a good time. Gary, you are a card - fun to be around I am sure - I would love to buy you guys a beer sometime.

Yes I was brave that day as you can tell I wasn't thrilled to whitewater raft. I cried a lot that morning and the night ... fear is a strange thing. Glad I did it though, we did have fun and yes Gary is a card... he makes me laugh every day and keeps a smile on my face. =)

So proud of u Stacy. Fears are hard to over come. I over came tow this past year. One was roller coasters and falling. I over came both. I went on the aero smith roller coaster at Hollywood studios in Orlando and tower of terror. I have never screamed so loud in my life. My god mother went with me on the tower of terror. And her and my grandpa went on the roller coaster.

Yes this was a hard one for me to do. Pure emotion pouring out of me that morning. I still don't know if I would do it again but I will admit I had fun!

We may have an opportunity to go on another white water raft trip while in Alaska in 2019. GQ

Sometimes we do have to just do it. When I saw you crying, it brought back memories of backing up our RV down the mountain in Ashville, when there was a deep ditch on one side and the cliff on the other..............I still get nervous just thinking about it. Although I love white water rafting.

Props to you Stacy!! You are one brave girl! I have a fear of heights and anything to do with them. I don't know if I could ever go and do something that had something to do with heights. I also would have cried my eyes out. Props to you for being so brave and doing things that some of us would never even of been able to do.

The fear is real, they've lost some clients before. I haven't done it, my father has and several friends have.

Yes the fear was VERY real. I have had 2 near drownings in my life and well its left its mark on me. I will confess that after this trip I felt silly of how scared I was but I will never lose focus on those fears. Would I do it again... maybe is all I can say.

This looked like a blast! I must say though in all the years of knowing you two I have NEVER seen the look of fear / anxiety that Stacey had on her face in the beginning of this video... I was feeling really bad for her.. but WOW way to overcome AGAIN!

Great job Stacey ! I also have the same fear of rafting but I l Iove the water kinda strange huh. I had to laugh when you said no way jumping out of a plane. That is my second fear and would never do it either. Loving the videos from Alasaka. Safe travels

I too LOVE water. Born and raised on the water but I also have a great respect for the water. I have seen and experienced a lot on the water so my fear was founded. I had a blast that day however and MAYBE will do it again.

Thanks for all the Alaska videos! My wife and I have really enjoyed every one. I have a request that's a little off subject. Would you consider making a video listing the pro's and con's of using your F-150 as a toad and the steps involved with hooking and un-hooking up the truck to the Disco? We are considering a very similar rig setup with a half ton truck with our small RZR 900 in the bed. I would need a little bit longer bed, but don't need a crewcab necessarily. Any tips, pointer and opinions would be helpful. Thanks again!

My wife would say go for it but I'm not going... For some reason she has a fear of boats and water... I did get her on the General Jackson in Nashville, Tenn. 20 years ago on our 20th wedding anniversary and I danced with her under the stars at the bow or the ship where were alone... That was a big deal for her because I DON'T like to dance, and if there'd been anyone around there's no way I would of done it... BUT being that she was willing to go on the river cruse with me the least I could do was to buy her a single rose and ask her to dance... Ok there I did it again I got off trace of what I was talking about... I got another year closer to 70 today so my attention span is slipping it the older age and or the brain damage.... LOL Well any way good for you Stacey to be willing to face your fear and kick it's butt... LOL... Yea like that one guy said back sometime ago in past history," There ain't nothing to fear but fear it's self"... Great to see y'all had an awesome time!!!

With that rain Gary coulda just tied an inner tube to the Ford's bumper and towed Stacey behind and called it good. I have horrible anxiety in crowds and cities. "Facing your fears" makes me aggressively homicidal! Glad it worked out so well for you :) You clearly had a blast! Gary should camp in a tent full of raw meat now to get over his as-yet undiagnosed fear of grizzly bears :)

Stacey, I kayak on the Current and Jack's Fork River in Missouri all the time but was with you on the whitewater rafting. Just NO! My mind is now open to trying it after seeing you give it a go. If the opportunity comes to me I think I'll be brave and try now!

I will admit our guide was fabulous. Within the first couple of minutes we hit one of the biggest waves were we all had to "lean in" which means its one of the worse ways going into the rapid, and once I made it through that I knew I was going to be okay.
