Enjoy the fall colors on your Michigan trip. UP is good and a very long drive. Also strongly consider visiting/camping the northern part of the lower peninsula, especially along Lake Michigan.

I tent camp on/off thru the years. I also had a 25 foot hard sided unit for a few years when my daughter & her friends were young. Then I tried a 17 foot hard side (just 2 of us & a small dog camping). Now I am back to tent camping alone. I never considered a hybrid unit because of the canvas and maintenance issues. This is just my 2 cents. Thank you for sharing Sir

If you are upgrading to a 3/4 ton truck, consider a 5th wheel. We recently purchased our 1st fifth wheel after several travel trailers. The difference in towing is unbelievable. My wife even takes the wheel now and tows it. Several great floor plans and many models to consider. Good luck.

We have owned fifth wheels and other travel trailers and we love our 2024 Rockwood 235s the most out of all the campers we have owned . It’s a lot of space inside with a small footprint . Yes it does require a little more setup but it’s not that bad . With that being said I am only 55 so I don’t mind the extra steps for setting up . But when we retire we are going to go back to a fifth wheel for easier towing and setup . We have looked at every fifth wheel out there and the ONLY brand we would consider would be an Arctic Fox Grande Ronde .

I live in northern Wisconsin. Love going up to the upper peninsula of Michigan. If you do get up to Houghton/Hancock, a nice couple of towns, and go up to Copper Harbor you might try Harbor Haus restaurant. Not cheap, actually expensive, but great food and view. Probably need reservation if going in the evening. If out and about take a ride on Brockway Mountain drive. Crooked road but nice view at the top. Along the way I think on 41 some monks have a fruitcake shop if you are in to that. Happy trails

The camper you have is a glorified tent trailer. Hard sided is much easier
