Very nice video. I think you got lucky with the rain, it makes the landscape look even better. Btw i was just about a few weeks ago at Sørstraumen (11:30) fishing and camping, we drove there all the way from Rauma, Finland. It's cool to see someone else like you just driving by really close to the place, you should've stopped there for some Cod and Saithe.

Hi. I have noticed one special about German RV users. They travel trough out of Europe and find beautiful places, but what they do? They elevate their satellite antennas and start watching TV. Who needs TV when traveling in Norway? It can also be seen on 9:43. By the way, great video once again. Tero

The "n" in "Rafsbotn" is pronounced. 8:38 You didn't stop to look at the petroglyphs in Alta? 9:49 Hum, I don't think of "Lefse" as flat bread, but ok. We *do* have a tradition for flat breads, but they look different. 13:07 Not harvesting, that is a fish farm. Essentially they're breeding fish there to sell instead of fishing it from the sea.

Ehm, there was a long period of rainy weather in the north of norway this summer, much more than normal. In the south we were sweating our arses off in a 3 month long heatwave. After Robert left the heatwave struck the north as well, with temperaturs up to 30 degrees celcius. He was just unlucky with his timing.
@Oslohiker6 жыл бұрын
I escaped southern Norway, to Northern Norway, to get some liveable conditions. I am glad I did. Robert was extra unlucky. I had a handfull of sunny days in the two weeks I was there. The midnight sun is unbeatable. You don't have that in LA.

Not as much as it was this June when Robert visited. It was the wettest june ever recorded in this part of Norway. After he left, the heatwave struck Northern-Norway. Also, Norway is a looong country with different climatezones.

How much was it to. rent your Rv? How much was gas per gallon when translated from liters?
@TheUglyGnome6 жыл бұрын
Savonia caravans rent their RVs from €700 to €1 200 / week depending on model and season. In Nordic countries diesel is around US$6.5 / gallon. And RV like the one Robert was driving makes around 15 to 25 MPG (of course depending on driving style).

The northernmost part of Norway is in fact home to several ethnicities. In addition to Norwegians there are of course the Sami people who were the original inhabitants of the area. In the 18th and 19th century there was a significant influx of the Kven people from Finland, and in recent decades a number of people have also moved there from Russia.
@williamkristiansen49386 жыл бұрын
Alot of north-norwegians are samis and kvens(finns that moved to Norway to build a better life). Most are a mix of ethnic norwegians and the mentioned minorities. The more south you get in northern Norway, the less there are of these minorites.
