We dove the Cassiar last month, absolutely loved it! Since we live in Juneau AK, we will be driving it again in the next couple of years. Thanks for the awesome video.

love your drive videos. A deck of playing cards is pretty much all one needs at the end of the day. Hope I can travel the Cassier someday, in a truck camper.

We took the Cassier as our return route in 16'. If your new to traveling the northern roads, one tip on passing another vehicle is: When passing a vehicle stay in the passing lane well past (300-400') the vehicle your passing and then move back into the right lane. If you move over too soon after a pass, you will kick up stones on the yellow line that tend to collect there. Same as that Class C that "tried" to move to the shoulder. All he was doing was kicking up stones unless he slowed to say 25-20 mph. Myself towing a RV trailer I "rarely" pass. But if someone is on my XXX I'll pull over at the next pull off or slow down on a clear section of road for them to make an easy pass. Easy-Peezy gets it done....

Our usual routine is for Les to play guitar and I knit around the fire. If bugs or weather drive us inside, same thing but also cribbage, scrabble, other card games, National Park Monopoly and wire wrap. Reading high on the list!

Gives a good look at the Cassiar, pronounced Cassi"R", though rather than Cassi "air". I worked up there for four or five years, loved the country and especially the people of Tahltan Nation. I am not sure many of my friends up there who call Telegraph home would be called ghosts but it is their town. I think my highest total for a one day drive from Kitwanga to Dease Lake was 24 bears probably 2 to 1 Blacks to Grizzlies. thanks for the great tour.

Great video! We did Cassiar last summer. That and the Icefields Parkway are my absolute favorite highways to travel❤️ Yep, a cozy fire, IPAs, and games, after hiking, are go-to activities whether there’s cell service or not❤️

The first time I drove the Cassiar there were no power lines after you left Meziadin Junction. Last year I saw power lines all the way to Diese Lake. Also Meziadin Campground had sites with power hookups. Civilization is coming to the Cassiar.

How many hours a day, would you say you drive during your Alaska Adventures?
@goneretired70305 жыл бұрын
Three to four hours a day.
@RVingtoAlaska5 жыл бұрын
It really just depends. Some days it’s 4 hours, some 6 hours and some just an hour. Once in Alaska the driving times usually get shorter as you don’t have as far to go on moving days. When we are transiting Canada we tend to do bigger pushes. But our next drive day in this series we only go about 130 miles.

What is the maximum vehicle height on the Cassiar and Alcan highways? Aside from when you have to cut fallen tree limbs... LOL
@RVingtoAlaska5 жыл бұрын
Semi’s travel both highways so you should have no issues with height at all.

@@RVingtoAlaska I'm doing a roof raise on a 40 ft Thomas pusher bus skoolie conversion and need to decide on my height for this. I'm thinking at most 12 ft 6 inches. I need to also check national parks that I plan to visit. Love your videos and hope to meet you guys some day when we're nomads.
