I spent 4 years sailing the Seas of course I was a bit younger and now rving fits me a bunch better but I will never forget there's something spiritual about the ocean and every time I get into the water I feel younger

I have a 28’ Tiffin Breeze (2012) diesel pusher which provides me with much of what you are talking about. 4 LiFePO batteries (power equivalent to 6-8 golf cart batteries), 70 gal water, 1000+ watts of solar on the roof keeps me boondocking until I run out of water and it easily fits in the tightest of National and State Park campsites (fits in most 23’ sites). Full tanks and fully loaded I still have another 3800 lbs of additional weight I can carry and towing a Honda CRV (4 down) shortens my overall length and gets rid of the need for storing a tow dolly. Good luck on your hunt!

I just was sharing with our daughter that our Diesel Pusher allows us to add around 9000 lbs cargo capacity. That is a lot of additional weight but it is a 45 ft unit so it doesn't fit every where. .
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, big tag axle diesel pushers have massive capacities. I have seen some with over 12,000 lb cargo capacity, but definitely a little more limiting on places they fit. Every RV has it's pros and cons. It all comes down to which pros have the greatest benefits to the owner at the time. Love the way those big tag coaches drive. So smooth and planted.

Can you please make videos comparing the slide mechanism between Newmar, Tiffin, Winnebago, and also advantages/disadvantages between the slide motors/ mechanisms they have since you have experience from touring RV manufacturers. Thanks.
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the suggestion. This would be a very complicated video to produce, but we might consider it sometime down the road. Also worth mentioning that many slide mechanisms are not unique to brand. Most RV manufacturers use slide mechanisms from the same external companies, not built in house. Newell and Foretravel being noteworthy exceptions. Newmar also uses a special system not used on other brands yet, but it is still created by external company.

When we purchased our first full-time RV, we purchased from a private owner. It does make a difference. We still had our house, so when we came home, we transferred from home to RV right on our property, which was a blessing in itself. When we sold, we sold to a private buyer as well. Now, we are getting ready to hit the road again and have our new full-time rig parked next to our home, going through the same process again! Fun, fun!

We have just installed a 1020 watt lithium solar system in our coach. only have two 300 amp lithium batteries. 6 panels on roof. Should work for long periods of boondocking, we hope. Brian & Patty from Oregon
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 6 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a nice set up for boondocking. Residential fridges can use a lot of juice overnight, but as long as you aren't using a lot of other power after the sun goes down, or if you have a super efficient fridge, I imagine you will be in pretty good shape.
@HometimeRE
@HometimeRE 6 жыл бұрын
the older breezes do not have residential fridges. we do need more fridge space so are going to purchase a dometic chest fridge/freezer with a slide out that we can put in the bay. hope it fits! we will be anxiously waiting to see what you purchased! you guys have really inspired us to go full time!

Awww, such sweet sorrow, Rocky is a good rig, just a lot of storage for 22K F53 chassis. Altho, my spring shop could beef that F53 up to 28K. The Rear, Rims,brakes, tires could all take it to 28K. 4 more springs on the back, 2 more in the front, and sumos all the way around. Sticking with my original guess? 36 Tiffin Red QBH. lost that tab since last time. Off to "The Big four" in Alabama I bet you are. Look out for the heat.
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 6 жыл бұрын
Haha good to know how much an F53 can be beefed up! Thanks for sharing! No plans for Alabama :)
@steveharkins279
@steveharkins279 6 жыл бұрын
Yea, the only limitation is the weight rating of the rear, the rims tires and brakes are all the same. Some F53's can go to 30K with the right rear, you do that it rides like it is on rails. No dipping, no sway, no tilt, just flat and straight. Also pick up about 20% better braking, as the entire rig stays flat while stopping. Learned all this from my spring shop, www.autoandtrucksprings.com/ Took my E350 to an E450, that worked so well, took the C from an E450 to an E550. No Alabama,,,, what you got going on you sly fox?

Tiffen owners are loyal and for good reason from the owners I have talked to. Marc said something about battery weight which means roof space too. With a big battery bank, you need a large solar array. Marc and Julie are even more involved in the RV Nomad community and in that community there is a push for manufacturers to produce a Dry Camping capable rig. In previous videos about the Mini and the Jeep they mentioned they were both performance car addicts. They and Road Gear Reviews both get things to test and review My guess is that Tiffen has developed a prototype coach for them to try, live in, test and review. It may be Newmar if RV Geeks are involved. Either that or they are going to build a school bus conversion.
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 6 жыл бұрын
Wow Bill some pretty big guesses in there! Actually, the majority of items we review on RGR are things we bought ourselves, occasionally we are sent items for review. Sorry to tell you but definitely no Tiffin (or Newmar) prototype coach... Tiffin doesn't even return our phone calls or emails - to be honest, we're not even sure if they are aware of our channel/blog. If they are, we wouldn't know it. So no, definitely no prototype coach. You'll find out later today!

The new buyer got a great deal. Brand new high quality tires also. We almost purchased a 2016 open road with bath and 1/2 but decided it was too long. We went with the Tiffin Allegro Breeze 32br diesel.It only had 5000 miles on it when we purchased and still looks in brand new shape. I bet you will be getting a diesel pusher! Probably a smaller one like ours so you can take it to more areas. A newer Tiffin 31br maybe? Or a Tiffin bus. I hope you stay with a Tiffin. Can't wait, the suspense it killing us! brian & Patty from Oregon

Thanks Brian, and congratulations on your coach. We do like Tiffin Breeze. It’s interesting what people want in and do in an RV. We love boondocking and hate RV parks. Over the past two years we have shed seldom used belongings and weight. Generally we don’t buy something new without throwing something else out, or donating it. Our meals have become more simple and fresh, so we have repurposed our old canned good storage areas. And the best part, we’re 100% solar and have no generator!!! Whoo hooo!
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 6 жыл бұрын
Awesome good for you! Yes, we love both - and the fact that we have the choice to do whatever we choose. Fo course some RV parks are nice/better than others, but one of the things we enjoy about those is the amenities (like hot tub) and meeting fellow RVers - which we don't get boondocking. We stayed at one campground in Texas in December that was a one acre lot on a lake and were surrounded by 50-80 deer every afternoon! It was incredible. Luckily we can have the best of both worlds!

+1 on the logistics of moving from one RV to another, especially when there's pets involved. I drove 800 miles to do my RV swap because they were the only dealer offering me what I wanted without losing my shirt. Stopped halfway to unload a bunch of stuff to self-storage. Spent a couple days "camped" in their very busy and crowded RV service lot to make the full transition. In addition I also had to find a place to trade in my tow vehicle for a heavy duty truck since I was switching from a class A to truck camper. It was a trying few days but got through it. Anyway congrats on the sale. You gave away several hints regarding weight limits for batteries, etc, so my guess it you're going class A DP, probably another Newmar, maybe a New Aire?
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 6 жыл бұрын
Yes you get the logistics Andy - it can be a very trying time. Fortunately ours went about as smoothly as anyone could ever imagine. We had spent weeks before trying to wrap our heads around how we were going to logistically navigate a sale/purchase when financing was involved. It literally gave me (Julie) a headache so I said you know what, let's just decide it's going to be EASY and see what happens, and voila, soon after - it was! All will be revealed tomorrow :)

What's the best way to list an RV for sale in your opinion?
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 6 жыл бұрын
Well, we often search on websites like RV Trader. Also Owner's groups and forums... some people do weel with Craig's List, Facebook Marketplace.. but to be honest, this is the first RV we have ever sold and we didn't even list it! So we can't speak from that experience, but we do spend a lot of time shopping online and RV Trader seems to have the biggest database of units.

I want to congratulate you two on your new adventure. I have longed to be an full time RVer all my life. I have a travel trailer that I go camping in but stay in the surrounding states to make it easy if I need to get back home for family reasons. I hope to be traveling the US as soon as I retire in 6 years. Then I hope to buy my first Motorhome. Keep up the videos and I will keep watching. I send you two good energy and safe travels from Charleston SC. 👍

Congratulations. It would be great if you got a Renegade Verona Super C. I would love to hear and see more about them. I believe they have more towing and weight capacity then a diesel Class A, except maybe the big million dollar ones. Whatever you get I wish you much happiness.

Congrats on the sale, though I would likely have kept Rocky with some updates. Updating is always less $$. My guess is a less than 40’ non-tag vintage/classic Class A diesel pusher, big tanks, 8-10 mpg, > 1,400 watts of solar with a similar sized Ah AGM pack (big lithiums still = too big $$$), and it will be all-electric. Like Technomadia’s coach, it’s “bones” will be from a real bus without the Prevost conversion price tag and it’ll have an updated interior, like Rocky. Unlike Rocky, it will have a 500K+ mile capable DP motor and will be built out of steel & aluminum rather than wood & plastic. With boondocking plans, you’ll avoid a Super C due to their long rear overhangs and too low ground clearance; same with regular C’s. A smaller Class A or micro Class B like the Fit-RV couples Travato is possible, though not likely due to their size limitations for full-timing. However, downsizing that much has been done lots of times. It all depends on your wants, plans & dreams for the future.

Congrats on your next step. And the courage to make the step. Judging from your last clips of your video I believe it's going to be a smaller unit. You guys seem to like the roads that are less traveled. My guess is it's going to be an Allegro Breeze 31,32 or 33. But what ever it is I'm looking forward to the journey though rv love.

The Newmar New Aire 3341 is at the top of our list. Just trying to save up a few more dollars to be able to pay cash for it as we dont want to incur any debt at this point in our lives. we will be moving from a 2500 square foot home and a 2001 coleman Utah popup camper to a class A diesel pusher, so it will be a HUGE jump for us. Scarry but watching your videos takes a lot of the fear out for us. I cant wait to see what you replaced Rocky with (my money is on a Newmar New Aire 3341)! Keep the great vidoes comming as I have learned a LOT from your videos!!!!

Change can be good! (Regardless of what the naysayers think!!!) My guess is another class a, little smaller than Rocky (around 35 feet) with the GVW you need to boondock more, perhaps a diesel this time? Happy travels, looking forward to the new adventures, Kari p.s. Was the matching blue planned? 🙃

A very interesting video! Typically, Class A dwellers move to a smaller rig, much smaller! But your comment about wanting more CCC whispers diesel pusher. My guess; a diesel class A under 30 feet.
@andychops
@andychops 6 жыл бұрын
Yes sir that is correct. I just transitioned from a class A DP to a truck camper, and what a transition it was! Granted it's pretty big as far as TCs go with two slides, but still probably not all that different from downsizing to a van.
@HumbleRoad
@HumbleRoad 6 жыл бұрын
Isn't it amazing how much more access you have now!? I had a 40 foot Class A DP and although I could thread a needle with that beast, we were very limited as to where we could go, and don't get me started on getting pinned in at a fuel station! Good luck with your TC, safe miles.

I am always tempted to buy another RV until I think of the gadgets and adaptations I've made to my RV and the work it would take to move and remove them for my next RV. Urban RV folks as yourself that don't do the wilderness camping where others dare or cannot physically go with large RVs have it a little easier than I do. You just pack the bags and leave. You've provided a lightly used rig with few miles on it for the next person. Depreciation is the thing that few nomads talk about but hey, I guess it's only money. I like to park my RV at airports too much and spend the potential depreciation on global trips elsewhere I guess. My RV will be at the airport in fall, and I'll be somewhere else.
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, modding an RV to make it your own takes time and work... and agree few talk about depreciation. A huge factor often overlooked by most folks... we'll definitely be talking about that in tomorrow's video.
@rebellucy5610
@rebellucy5610 6 жыл бұрын
Depreciation is a fact of life with any type of vehicle. RV, boats, planes etc. Life goes by quickly and in the end you will NOT be thinking about 'depreciation'. You WILL be thinking about memories and spending time with people you love. If owning a RV gives someone the chance to make lasting memories then go for it! Live life and enjoy the journey.
