Just in case Eric doesn’t read his comments. I made a suggestion for him to invest in a Riv Nut tool to secure the solar panels down. Metal bus you can use Riv nut all over. Another idea I had was to use white bed liner on the roof after all the Riv nuts placed. Keep up the good work.

I will pass on the rivet nut suggestion.

You are doing a great job on the build looks like lots of fun…Just a reminder to add some sort of a nail plate on the wall studs where the wires travel through so Eric does not drive a screw through the Rolex…keep the vids coming..

I'm familiar with those plates and will definitely be using them.

Great video Wayne. I even understood it. Not that i would personally do this work, but i certainly am considering on having my son add it to my cargo trailer conversion. Ty for sharing. Ohhh, by the way, I love your intro & outro. So pretty, I love nature, especially the sun & water views.

Wayne, I would suggest you drop in a fuel pickup into the bus main diesel tank and set it up with a cheap inline fuel pump. Run a fuel line from the main tank to the heater tank and install a control switch next to the heater tank. That way Eric could simply transfer fuel from the main tank as needed for the heater(s)

Even better... drop a dip tube in the bus fuel tank, cut it an inch or two from the bottom (so you don't run out of fuel and therefore can't move the bus to refuel). Some CDH kits come with a dip tube. Get the one with a threaded top part. Drill and tap the top of tank (6x1.0mm) and thread it in. No more fooling with a tank that will leak in the future. AND ditch the green fuel line. Get the 2mm ID x5mm OD white nylon line and associated black rubber (5mm ID) hose pieces for connectors, as well as 10mm spring clips.
I have see Chucks video on the heaters. Tapping into the main tank is not an easy task to do The theory sounds easy but its not.
@johnrotert22416 сағат бұрын
I've done it several times. Very easy. Drill a hole. Tap the hole. Insert the tube. Done.

I'm a retired journeyman industrial electrician and want to bring something to your attention. You may already know this. Everywhere that you run 110 romax through a stud I would suggest using a steel plate on the stud to protect the wire from screws when you attach the plywood wall. In home construction they are required. Bus construction isn't inspected bit these would save a possible short. You can find them at lowes, just search electrical protection plate. They are also called a nail plate. You are doing a great job, Eric is lucky to have someone like you to help him.

Nice heater install , he's probably going to have to upgrade to a 6 gallon fuel tank for the diesel fuel or hell be running out of fuel often. Bass pro sells a nice 6 gallon red plastic tank , Specter Brand

I feel that if you need traction on a bus that’s close to 32,000 pounds 36,000 pounds. that Onspot chains are the best option and they don’t take up any room. They hang down by your wheels if you ever decide to drive in snow and ice!👍🏽😊❤️🇺🇸

Maybe a larger diesel tank, fillable from the old sander fillable door. Like a 12 to 18 gallons dedicated to the 2 heaters, just saying

@@rvprepperwayne I have a 21 ft shuttle bus conversion and have a diesel heater on 30s to 40s heats up nice. But anything below that have to supplement with a propane heater to really be comfortable. But anyways great job👍

Is standard romax wiring going to be suitable for an Rv? Doesn’t vibration from the road run the risk of a wire stress braking a wire causing a short! Aren’t you supposed to be using marine grade wiring that is “braided “? Doesn’t the braided wire resist breakage?

Why not mount the diesel heater outside the bus and run the ducts up into the bus. (no chance of any fuel leaking in the bus & all combustion outside)
