Melany, The Lucy Park area is one of our favorite places to walk our dog. The mountain bike portion of the “Hotter Than Hell 100” bike marathon goes through the area too (near the RV Park that Tom and Stacy captured on camera). The Lucy Park Trails are now part of the Wichita Falls “Circle Trail” system that will be a 24 mile loop around most of Wichita Falls when completed. A great place to bike or walk! They just finsihed another portion of the trail, the Wichita Falls Bluff Trail, that is VERY scenic. Right now, the Bluff Trail stops at LOOP 11 on the Wichita River, just short of Lucy Park.

You guys do great campground reviews. We visited Lake Arrowhead back in 2012. The Lake was way down due to drought. Nice to see the Lake has recovered. We stayed in one of the circular loops and could hear the jack pump and at night the coyotes. We were there in the late fall and the park was almost empty despite being a weekend. Guess the low lake level affected attendance. We took a hike and checked out the prairie dog village. Nice park to ride bikes around.

Well, you missed it. The Rotary Club park on Southwest PKWY, in Wichita Falls, across from the cemetery has a much, much bigger prairie dog village and also park swings and such for kids there. Unlike the state park at The Wichita Mountains, in Oklahoma, who fine you $250 dollars if they catch you feeding their prairie dogs, the Rotary Park prairie dogs are constantly fed by the public and the kids all love feeding them. The antique shopping and thrift store shopping in Wichita Falls is also a nice thing to come and see. The Hotter N Hell bicycle event is a yearly crowd draw, as is the Zombie Walk downtown, held in October. Personally, I do wish you could list which cities you are going to on your videos so one does not have to open each one to find a specific location from your travels. I wanted to see where you camped in West Texas or nearby Wichita Falls and not just at Lake Arrowhead. Did you ever hit the Wichita Mountains, up near Lawton, OK? Medicine Park is a virtually unknown area there, but well worth looking over as to campgrounds. Lots of unique shops there and The Mansion is well worth a visit to eat at the restaurant and learn of the early history of folks like Bonnie and Clyde having actually stayed there or even Al Capone and other gangland members. Nice video.

I had a somewhat not a nice experience here. Was raining. 100F. No other campers were in the park. I was assigned a site, went to it unhooked. Employee came by said I got to move. Went to the office and was told had to move someone was in that spot...?....I told them that you assigned me this site..they insisted I move to the next site over. I did as told, in the rain & 100F plus. I was there just passing through and visiting Shepherd AFB. Next day, no one was in the site I moved from. With 50yrs of traveling and camping I've never experienced this. Traveled through area several times and won't stay there again. I'm sure it's changed but once burned I always learn.

The lake actually got down to around 5% during the drought. Most of the lake you could walk right across it. It’s a nice park, I been fishing there since I was young. The wardens here are complete jerks and will look for any reason to ticket you which has ran off a lot of visitors since they don’t want to get hassled every time they go to the lake. But arrowhead is great for crappy fishin!

It's disc golf..says it right on the sign. lol Not frisbee. Big difference between a frisbee and a disc.

Gotcha! Thanks for the info. We don't see a lot of courses. If you don't mind, what are the main differences?

@@rvamericayall LIke regular golf, you have disc that you throw with different weights that are made for different types of throws. Some that when you throw them are for maximum distance(drivers), some are for mid-range for approach shots. Putters are made for shots near the basket. Some are for beginners that are easier to control that fly more like a frisbee would fly but still a lot of technique is needed to be learned. It's good to have an experienced disc-golfer to give you lessons but usually by the end of an 18 hole round you start getting the hang of it. Give it a try...there's beautiful courses worldwide and lots of clubs and large tournaments all year long. go to www.pdga.com and check it out.
