Rwandan dance tutorial

On Holocaust Memorial Day we can learn about the cultures of the countries and communities affected by genocide. Use this video tutorial with any age group to learn a traditional dance and celebrate Rwandan culture.
This Rwandan dance tutorial was filmed in the Mashirika studio, a space led by Hope Azeda who lost family members in the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Hope uses the arts to build unity. Since 1994 Rwandan classical dance has been used to promote a sense of national belonging and pride.
