Oh my god, this is genuinely good! I'm hardcore Bumbleby trash, but it's not like I think things are good simply because they support my ship. This is actually pretty well done. You really captured their connection, and the scenes from volume 3 gut me every time I see them. Am I the only one noticing that with every volume they seem to get closer and have more moments that can be interpreted as romantic? I'm really hoping that the RWBY writers will see their connection and realize that they have great chemistry and just go with it, taking it beyond fanservice and subtext into an actual romantic relationship. (The same way the writers on "Person of Interest" did with Root and Shaw.)

+Kat F pretty sure the writers and even the VA's see their chemistry (from what I've read they seem to ship them too) and I'm really hoping the latest bit in Vol. 3 was a setup for exactly them taking the next step into being an official couple.

***** I get so worried though, because it seems like with hetero couples all it takes is one blush (Blake blushes at Sun in Volume 3 Episode 2) and everyone believes their connection, but if it's two girls it takes way more "proof". It just seems like the writers have been trying to develop both Blake/Sun and Blake/Yang, but only one of those is seen by viewers as automatically romantic, and that's Blake/Sun, even though Bumbleby has much more chemistry and compatibility imo. It's hard to tell whether the writers are just trying to develop Blake/Yang as close friends but like to tease Bumbleby shippers, or if they're actually presenting them as a possible couple. I just hope that either way, they make it clear pretty soon. Not that I'd want Bumbleby to get together right away, because a) a lot of viewers would see it as having no build-up and assume it's just fanservice, and b) if they got together right away it would make it much more likely for them to break up somehow down the road because of how many volumes are planned. I like the current pace of their relationship development, I just wish we could know for sure exactly what kind of relationship it's intended to be.

Kat F ugh I've been arguing with the section of people that see them as just friends (a really annoying and tired excuse to handwave same-sex ships) with little romantic development, even though they actually have plenty in the substantive type just not in the blatant type. I know if any company is likely to do same-sex it'd be RT, especially since Yang and Blake's voice actors ship them afaik. And I've heard that Miles and Kerry ship them too. I can't help but see the finale as close to perfect setup for it to potentially happen.

+G.ShockSS Oh, I completely agree with you about them seeming to be "tied" together. I really wouldn't be surprised if Adam and Raven are working together or even related, and that would add a lot of dimension to Yang and Blake's relationship, what with Adam being obsessed with Blake and having cut off Yang's arm, and Yang being Raven's daughter and all. It provides a really good opportunity for conflict, and for them to work through their shit together, like you said. Some people saw the end of Volume 3 as being the end of Bumbleby, but honestly, to me it seems like the exact opposite. Because now they aren't just being cute friends, they love each other and they've made sacrifices and mistakes and they care enough to be so deeply hurt by the circumstances, and that's how so many romantic relationships on TV go. Their connection seems more real than ever now. Things are all geared up to get a lot more complicated and involved, and maybe they'll be separated for a while, but the fact that they're basically being given the exact kind of complicated drama and road blocks that many TV couples get makes me really hopeful for their future. Oh, and your English is actually really good. I wouldn't have guessed it's not your first language.

It's not like I need everyone to ship Bumbleby, I just wish more people could see connections between characters as what they are, regardless of gender. And If I hear the "but they've both shown interest in guys so they couldn't possibly develop feelings for each other" argument one more time, I fucking swear to god...

Then Weiss spends the rest of the day with Yang and we saw how she reacted once she talked to Blake.) So my reaction after v3 e6 was HUGE! Naturally i predicted Weiss would have her back and Ruby was a given, but it wouldn't matter to her unless Blake believed her. So feels from v3 e8 as well, but i predicted correctly. Now i dont REALLY think Blake left out of guilt. I think she left to protect Yang so nothing else would happen to her or worse... Blake doesn't want Yang to get killed. She feels she has to deal w her Adam stuff alone.

After v4 I can definitely say I'm looking forward to v5 hopefully getting back to this golden pair instead of the bronze one. Especially after "My eyes are opened wide" (her realizing her feelings towards Blake in 3x11 as she faced losing her) and "there’s nothing that I won’t do for her" (sentiment beyond "just friends") in "Armed and Ready".
