It's a reference to the fact that Ren was voiced by Monty Oum, the show's creator and main animator. That is, before he died. Now he is voiced by his brother. So that whole scene is pretty much Ren channelling his inner Monty. Monty was also a great dancer, so it could be a reference to that too.

Viable point, still doesn't stop a fair part of the fandom from going grim dark for some reason. Yeah the next volume means a darker part of the series but the Chibi series is meant to be light hearted, not Ruby or Yang trying to escape what happened as they spiral into a cone of madness. MetalMusicFreak2014 I can see it now. Ozpin is going for another cup of coffee when he finds it empty. It then cuts to a bunch of random locations where it's implied that Ozpin keeps a secret of it, only to find them all empty. Freaking out now, Ozpin checks a hidden room next to the Fall Maiden and finds none other than Nora having another coffee seizer in the middle of an empty room. Ozpin tears up a bit and Qrow appears out of now where to give him a cup of coffee. Now happy, Ozpin moves to take as sip, but it is stolen and drank by Nora. Ozpin starts to tear up again and the scene ends.
