Regarding the story, I was caught by surprise by the new roles you gave Bertilak and the Shopkeep as Team CRDL's relatives. On top of that, I like that Cardin's poor behavior on the mission led to real consequences for him, and hopefully his "friends" can improve themselves while he is absent. Team RWBY being banned from unsupervised missions for the remainder of the semester made me curious as to who we'll see accompanying the girls on later missions. I'd love to see Oobleck, Port, or Peach make a cameo on one of these missions. I also love how Ruby paid Dove's good deed forward and suggested him as CRDL's interim leader. I'm excited to see how their "healthy ambivalence" evolves moving forward. Once again, thank you guys so much for all of your efforts. Looking forward to Ep. 8!

It was lovely to see Ruby recommend Dove. It's nice to see the action influence the character development like that. I will say, I'm disappointed that Russell's dad looks... pretty much exactly like him but bigger and older. It's a bit of a sore spot that 'RWBY' has so much Generation Xerox going on as is and now we have an adoptive parent who takes that so much further.

Bertilak is technically Russel's adoptive dad who trained him, in this context Russel kinda copied his style with the mohawk. I picked him out of the list of characters because their descriptions were similar (Russel's in the main show, Bertilak's in the CFVY books) and felt like it'd be neat to connect the two. I get what you mean about the characters and parents being too identical, though! I'll keep that in mind if we ever do the Arcs or something.

honestly, the change from 2d statics to full 3d animated pannels was a great glow up in this episode, don't know if it will hold up for later episodes, maybe you're compensating for the fight scenes though, which is comprehensible. You're diving even deeper in team cardinal (more than you1ve done thus far, which was already impressive). This is honestly becoming one of the best projects from the fanbase for real. thank you so much for this, it's so good seeing these characters in fun scenarios while the show is basically on ice for I dunno how long (we need news now! lol). Obviously the animation isn't perfect because there are limitations and struggles, but the attention to detail makes up for any rough edges. Particular animation highlights for me was Blakes reaction to saying Ilia's name and the way Alex stretched. Great job.

With Ren’s little comment that Grimm never run, I do bet that the older Grimm who are more cautious for their safety in potential conflicts, like the Goliaths, would run if they have no other choice. And I do also bet that any Grimm might run from an opponent that no Grimm can face, maybe even an opponent like Godzilla.
